Huh, looks like my guy was right after all about both Perez and Caroline Bauer a month ago. Lets see if Breanna Stuart follows them as well. I'll owe him an apology.

Floridian Mary Ellen Eudaly (2:13/4:44/10:17/17:35 XC) has committed to Arkansas.
Must have been a heck of an official visit to The Swamp!! Breanna Stuart (2:19/4:59/10:48/17:58 XC) just committed to the Gators. All 3 girls on that visit committed.

Impressive. I'll never doubt my guy again. Mildly surprised since Stewart has been a Horns fan since birth and I believe her dad is alumni.
Cate Joaquin (St. Francis) to Georgetown. 2:22/4:54/10:44/17:14xc.
Morgan Monesmith (58 400m / 2:06 / 4:53 / 18:30 xc) off to Princeton
Another top 50 distance recruit off the board!! IL phenom Aly Negovetich (2:15 / 4:56 /10:40 / 16:30 3 mile xc) going to Lipscomb.
I read she was signing a likely letter as a U Penn Quaker?
Posted her commitment on IG
Charlotte Bednar (2:19 / 4:52 mile / 9:59 / 15:52 5k track / 17:21 xc) committed to Notre Dame.
Jaycee Farmer is headed to BYU to run. 2:13/4:53/11:14/18:00xc. The 6-1 multi sport athlete from a long line of accomplished runners had actually received an offer from the University of Arizona for both soccer and track. But balancing both sports proved tough for Jaycee so she decided to go with running and switch to BYU. The Wildcats loss is the Cougars gain.
Mia Cochran (2:14/4:45m/9:41/10:17) is a Razorback. The four time Pennsylvania state champion joins Erzen and Gonzalez in a great freshman class and is good enough to be have an impact right off the bat despite the talent in Fayetteville.

OK State has picked up 5 solid girl recruits this season -- 3 top 50 (Cook, O'Connell, and Politza) and 2 top 100 (Dawson and Hinkle). They have 31 Distance girls on their roster this season and only 8 are seniors / grad students. Assuming none of them take their extra year of eligibility and all leave, roster would have 28 next year. Their top 2 recruits from last year -- Grace Ping (4:54/10:25/16:26/17:08 5k) and Colleen Stegman (2:14/4:54/10:30/17:02xc) haven't officially raced yet and are most likely red-shirted.
Just wonder if these girls have thought this all the way through. Wouldn't some of these top recruits be better off going to other D1 schools with smaller rosters and not as many superstars? They would get to race more and have a better experience IMHO.
Add Cameron McConnell (2:10/4:49m/10:50/17:06xc) to the growing line up. Somebody in Stillwater is clearly a really good recruiter...
I found this article interesting, and haven't seen discussion about it. Is this an anomaly or the wave of the future. I am aware of other senior athletes leaving HS early to join their new college teams, but usually not until after their senior athletic season is over, and not forgoing their HS time after committing. I've also heard a story, unconfirmed to me, that a highly touted PA XC runner has taken time off from school to go train at altitude. Is that a new thing?

Thats a pretty good time for a high school kid. Would have probably put her in the top 60 in the main race. I wonder who “Project Dark Horse” is exactly. As I recall Mulhern won the state xc title as a freshman but never repeated. After that a lot of her identity was wrapped around the dream teams she was on for the NE NXN entries (Starliper, Bednar, Jenks, Fayhs, etc). She had some nice times this spring on the track. Wonder how long shes been off the ranch. The local PA press wrote articles at the beginning of the season seeming to indicate she was the class of the field and was gunning for a second state title so dont think this was on the radar in early September. Maybe she felt her high school wasnt giving her what she needed and was looking to get into top form before she joined the ladies at Furman next fall. As you note, others have been exploring this route. I know Hutchins is graduating early then going the private coach route starting in January (although its looking more and more like shes done with high school forever; not sure if injured or just nothing else to prove. or just some combination).
Bednar to Notre Dame.
Naomi Ruff (2:14/4:56/11:03/16:45xc3m) is going to Arizona State. She also happens to be a nationally ranked triathlete.

*Correction. I undersold her triathlon talent. Shes actually a DOUBLE Junior Elite National Champion. So Im gonna guess thats not ending with high school then.
Cassandra O'pry (2:16/4:59/10:44/18:03xc) of North Crowley will be running for Texas Tech.
