The 1500m progression is less of a concern
What is concerning, 13.08 to 12.50 in 2 months . This is somewhat unprecedented .
Does he have any TUE's ?
Elg developed athsma before his gold medal and was granted a TUE

The 13:08 was in terrible conditions.
Replay is on Peacock.

Lol. Just watched his 3000 today. To the gills. Not even remotely out of breath at the finish.
This is the funniest…the guy was balls to the wall the last 25 meters and finished desperately leaning and was then semi-panting.
Also as an above poster says his 13:08 was in crappy conditions beating Kimeli who ran 12:51 last year and 13:02 at altitude this year…

Go back and watch again the immediate post race period. He is not tired. I think he can run 7’22.

Balls to the wall leaning desperately
~or
Semi panting
… after 25m of hard work… choose one
He was gritting his teeth and working hard throughout the final 1200. I don’t know the fact that when they show him 20 seconds later he’s excited means anything. The pacing like Kejelcha does suggest he could run faster.

Literally no one knew this dudes name before indoors and he just ran 3:28. Lol.
ummm no cause monaco is a fake track. he "really" ran a 3:30
next is look at his face, he is hurting the whole time, not the sign of a full throttle doper. no those guys finish without breathing hard then go around fist bumping everyone else who is on the track in pain, then go on a 30 second 200 pace victory jog and then do an interview and still not out of breath.
he looks like he is straining hard like the LR hero hocker, just 3 seconds faster

Once again, he’s 19. It’s much more normal to drop huge chunks at 17->19 than 21->23. And he ran 3:35, not 3:29. Hocker is also not from a country with a long history of EPOers like Morocco and Spain. Keep up.
wait one HOT minute....big ol canova was defending a 23-24 yr old kenyan who dropped from 1:46 to 1:43....its just hard smart training guys!!! come on now burritos dont work on talented runners lolz

Just watched the race on youtube.
Two takeaways:
1) Not a full out run by Katir, he might be in 7:22-23 shape.
2) He has a very smooth stride and a well oiled upper body system. Seems, that his arms are no-nonsense and his torso is in synergy with the rest of his body, meanwhile McSweyns form fell apart in the last 200m. Katir reminds me somewhat of Gebreselassie, just taller. Maybe his torso + arms are giving him a way to breathe better and that could be a reason why he's not suffocating after the finish line.
he is 6'0 130....so yeah he is a "white" kenyan for sure

just watched the 3000....he is so much more flexible in his hips than everyone else....and man gotta love his try hard coming down the stretch regardless if he is sauced on some burritos....seeing someone using all their upper body to gasp gulps of air while they keep pushing is inspiring...well unless you never ran. i know whenever i had to gasp and gulp air like that my lungs hurt so bad, so its not like he isnt in any pain. not like El G blowing kisses the last 25m in his Seville 3:27 after ROUNDS....now that was some full throttle saucing!

Red flags when he PRs down to 7:35.29 in Karlsruhe, #3 AT Spaniard indoors behind Sergio Sánchez ( 7: 32.41) and Alberto García (7: 32.98), both of whom were suspended for doping.
For anyone who may have forgotten the doping nuggets Sanchez shared:

“When an athlete turns 23 he starts competing in the senior division. And with this jump in competition, this is where you get eaten alive. I started doing the 1500 meters and I ended up being sixth place in the Spanish Championships in an Olympic year. I ran 3:39 in the 1500 a bunch of times, so of course there are going to be people offering to take you down the wrong path.”
Hmmm

Lol, semi-panting. More like screaming that 'he isn't listening to anyone' (i.e. the doping accusations). The doping apologists defending this guy are going to lose all credibility when he gets busted in the next few months. Best defend him under anonymous usernames.
I heard a recent interview with the former head of WADA, David Howman, saying that doping is much more sophisticated than anti doping and that they can't keep up with it. He said the only time you stand a chance of catching a doper is in the very short period it is still in their system. He also said they will never eradicate doping and the best they might achieve is to discourage it and maybe reduce it, although it isn't possible to say with fact exactly how widespread it is.
I would say it's pretty obvious not many are being discouraged or prevented.
Found out Katir's indoor 3:36 and 7:35, as well as his 4th place finish at indoor euro's, were in normal Asics spikes(which aren't the best) Makes me understand his progression more as he has super spikes now.

Wow. The US has a rich history of doping in T&F. Have you not heard of Marion Jones, Dennis Mitchell, Tim Montgomery, Brianna McNeal, Shelby Houlihan, and Justin Gatlin? Add in the very serious questions about Carl Lewis, Evan Jager, Galen Rupp, and Centro.
Then let's talk about how the NCAA is outside of the WADA system which is crazy - the incentives to dope for high school and college athletes is huge given the rewards involved for the very best.
I'm not excusing Katir but let's not pretend the US has clean hands here. If the US didn't have such massive financial power in athletics, then it would be a category A country on the WADA list

and why does everyone keep acting like he went 3:36 to a fake 3:28

As an Australian who saw Jye as a teenager in all schools competitions, he was a super talented junior but after high school 17-21ish he was basically injured every 6 months and couldn’t string consistent training together up until about 12 months ago.
Lot of interesting interviews with him about it and nearly giving up on the sport.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
