Sorry dude but that color combination was awful. I think it's one of the worst ones they made lol.

Simple is the point. No sht printed all over. Not too loud. Pops without being audacious.
“Look at that subtle coloring. The tasteful thickness.”
What else compares? Maybe if Nike revived the OG New Zealand look I’d be convinced, but national kits are a distinct class IMO.
OG NZ for sure. Silver medal to Arkansas.

Talking about kits:
Anyone else noticed Nike athletes running with the same gear for the second straight season?
Another hint at Nike pulling the plug in T&F?
Everyone is wearing the same kit as last season.
Manufacturing has been a nightmare during the pandemic and we’re technically still in the same Olympic cycle.
Anyway, the new Strata kit from Tracksmith is the best. They get bonus points because you can actually go online and buy it for yourself.

Is that an Ed Hardy collaboration? Disgusting.

You’re simply wrong. You ever try to source a Rosa kit? Super high demand and minimal supply. I don’t think I was ever able to find those shorts and the singlet was ~$300 if memory serves. If nothing else the market agrees with me.
Also, thanks for “contributing.”
Case in point. Same design as the current Nike elite kit but in better colors:

For $300, you too can look like a doper!

Hell of a lot more Burrito Trial Club jerseys out there. Easy to find on clearance for 1/5 the cost of a rare Rosa.
But in truth I wouldn’t wear a pro kit because I haven’t earned it. At least not the singlet.

Adidas has a new one out and so does NB. Puma as well. Not sure about Asics.
I can understand there were difficulties and for large parts there simply has not even been a 2020 season.
Fair point re: Adidas + Puma.
I had Nike, New Balance, and Brooks in mind. All those brands are in the same kit as 2019/2020.
I really like the new Adidas distance kit and wish they’d put them online. We should break the taboo against buying and wearing “authentic” professional kit as a non-elite, in my opinion. Sell merchandise, get fans involved and invested in the sport at the professional level. No one will give you a hard time for wearing a LeBron jersey.

I agree with the exception of the reigning World/Olympic black and gold kit.
The real gold mine would be a full selection of spike plates and upper combinations. Imagine an Atomknit upper in Jasari colors with Dragonfly midsole over the OG Victory plate, for example. People pay through the nose for Alphaflys. I seriously believe people would pay at least as much for a comprehensive NikeID selection.

That kit and the ensuing backlash Nike got for it were both fantastic. Shame they were pulled so quickly, I picked up the matching quarterzip but was never able to get my hands on the actual singlet.
Not quite as good but I also really loved the kit Webb wore a few times in '04. Clean but noticeable design that reminds me a lot of the better kits from the 70s.

Those blacked-out Kiwi kits had presence for sure. I remember watching a mile replay with Dixon and Walker. Three laps in and these 2 black specters all of a suddenly appear from the pack and slide up onto the leader. Couldn't imagine looking over your shoulder and seeing that going into your kick!
On another note, anyone remember those USA kits from that era with the red and blue cammo print? I remember seeing a photo of one a year or two ago and thinking it was pretty striking but can't for the life of me find it again.

100% iconic. An all-black kit has serious presence IMO and all the more so back when it seems like everyone was racing in white linen. Also John Walker was absolutely colossal in physique by any standard-- then or now. Imagine you're racing under the lights somewhere in the lead with 550 to go knowing this monster is about to bear down on you.
This makes me wonder how much influence, if any, Salazar and/or Nike marketing had in selecting black as their primary kit. With their skull logo you can't help but reason that they were angling at something.
I don't recall that camo print but it sounds interesting. I find most of the US National kits pretty underwhelming compared to, say, Djibouti or Ugandai. That said, I liked that all red kit from 2012.

Hell no!
NB has had a new one out each year. 2021 looks similar to 2018. 2019 and 2020 were similar as well but not the same. Seems to be their strategy to keep a familiar look. This year I noticed they treat their top stars with a special coloured variant (Coburn, Simpson, Bromell, McLaughlin).
I don't consider Brooks a major player. Didn't spot any singlets in Monaco.
Saucony basically is gone.
Out of the big 5 that leaves Nike athletes the only ones with "old" singlets. Odd because we got used seeing Nike pour millions into T&F and now they go the cheap way by saving new Elite kits?
2004 and 2012 USA kits were solid IMO
