She had a little bit of a smirk on her face at the finish line after she destoryed the field as if to say, "Wow. I did that here but am not going to the Olympics."

or she was thinking where was that last week?
She was tactically awful at the trials final. Was obviously top 3 in fitness 😔
Well you are good at reading smirks Rojo. When I see a smirk most of the time I have no idea exactly what the smirker is thinking.
She crushed it today! Glad to see her bounce back & jump right back into the saddle with an amazing PR!
Dang she looked great in the last 300m, slayed em

Both. I remember asking Robby Andrews if he was going to chill out the day after he failed to qualify at the Trials in '16. He was like, F no! I'm in great shape, I'm going to Europe and race! Good for Grace.
That was incredible! She looked so strong and confident. It's a huge bummer to think that if she had just stayed a bit more controlled with 250m to go at the trials she could have easily been top 3. Also hard knowing that maybe one of our best medal contenders won't get a chance. She's a class act though and love seeing her thrive
Running on PURE FU-KING KATE HATE!
Nice work, Ms. Grace!
good for her. the 800 is a tough racket in the US. very happy for her.

The 800m and the 400mH are almost unfair.

Gotta know how to race the rounds

I just watched the race twice and paid particular attention to Grace. She did nothing wrong IMO. Spent a fair amount of time in lane 2 (so did Mu), but stayed out of trouble, put herself in position to make the team, and just didn't have the wherewithal in the last ~100m.
"Tactically awful"? No, she just was outrun.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lmaAemUHT0Looks like team boss has been really good for her!! Sad she didn’t make the Olympics cause I feel she definitely could’ve but the 800 is so unpredictable.
It doesn't do too much good to dwell on the Trials--excerpt to learn and improve. That seems what's happened here. This is a fantastic achievement, and we can all be glad with her. She has many miles ahead, and I'm hoping she's find continued success.
HEY! How about an interview with KATE? It'd be great!
Great start to her summer racing tour! GO KATE! Incredible race!
Ya that's definitely bitter sweet I imagine. It's an olympic year, so the only thing that really matters for someone like her is qualifying for the olympics. And at this point in her career, she probably will probably be on the decline in a few years for the next olympics. But hey, maybe she can keep this up and run 1:57/1:58 next year to be running at the world championships in Eugene.

Yes! Thanks for mentioning the WC's. Some people are fixated on the Olympics and forget there are other important races as well.
