If so, how are they picking the team? Did I miss USATF jrs or something?

Australia isn't...how about the Princeton steepler making the Olympic team.

The USATF decided not to send a team to the World U20 Championships in Kenya normally selected at the meet formerly known as the USATF Junior Nationals but now called the USATF U20 championship and were going to select teams for other meets there before the pandemic cancelled it.
The meet you refer to is the regular Junior Olympics which includes younger kids which is going to be held in Fla. There was always confusion between the Junior Nationals U-20 and the Junior Olympics.
USATF Decides Not To Send Team to World U18 Championships in Kenya
USATF decided a few month ago that the U20 National Championships was a no go. Also, USATF decided that the USA was not sending a team to Kenya for the U20 WCh. The reasoning was more a security concern than Covid-19. A couple years ago we did not send a team to Kenya for the U18 WCh. In addition to this, is the economical burden since in 2021 it was plan to attend the Pan Am U20 in Chile. I believe that as righ now the Pan Am still on an the USA will select the team based on the U20 Season list. This could change. The Pan Am is now schedule for September.
It is odd to see that the JO still a go, Masters Nationals are on but no U20(!?).
This is the competition that Coe used to reward the Kenyans for stepping up their anti-doping efforts. Looks like it's going to be a bit of a damp squib.
Why the heck are we sending a team?! I’m assuming covid? Pretty funny most other sports are sending teams for u20 and u18 championships. Wrestling for example. Obviously they aren’t in Kenya lol. They’re in the middle of nowhere, honestly, Russia.
Due to a number of factors including timing, logistics, and most importantly the health and well-being of our athletes and team staffs, USATF will not send athletes to the following 2021 events:
2021 NACAC U23 Championships, Costa Rica, July 9-11
2021 Thorpe Cup, July 17-18
2021 World Athletics U20 Championships, Nairobi, Kenya, August 17-22 ****
2021 Pan Am U20 Championships, Iquique, Chile, October 22-24
USATF will continue to monitor events and look forward to participation in a robust competition calendar in 2022.
