CORRECT!
ESEPCIALLY since he's just 20 and still has a career, but beyond that, 3:50 at age 19 indoors is insane. He's got more promise than Wheating did.

Flagpole you are really stupid about some things and you double down on your recalcitrant idiocy. Hocker lost in that indoor mile to a guy who is not even a great miler. Indoors is often faster than outdoors now. You really are in over your head here. You always have to hijack these threads with your nonsense and you never will admit you are wrong.

We are not talking about Cooper Teare. We are talking about Cole Hocker vs. Wheating. Sorry, you are way off. 3:50 indoors in the mile at age 19 is better than anything Wheating ever did.
You also fail to understand that Centro is past his prime as a 1500m runner. That was one weak field at the Olympic Trials. Two collegians made it. Come on man!
Galen Rupp ran 3:50 indoors. Johnny Gregorek ran 3:49 indoors. Neither is even remotely considered a great miler.

Dude, you are a moron. Youngest 1500 NCAA champ in 110 years. 3:50 for the mile at age 19.
Game. Set. Match. Wheating NEVER did anything that promising. You lost, dude.

Rupp was doped to the gills, and neither of them did it at age 19 OR had run even close to as little as Hocker has.
Ya lost! Try again on some other topic. You're dead wrong here.

You are an insufferable fool who lacks the intellectual horsepower to debate me. What a colossal moron you actually are.

Well, that's amazing since you just lost handily. You brought up Rupp to somehow disprove that Hocker isn't as promising as Wheating was. That shows zero debate skill or "intellectual horsepower". Ya lost! Try again another day. I'll tell you if you win, and I'll be honest too. You didn't in here. Ya lost!
There is not winning here. To say that Hocker has more promise is to manifest a delusional state. You by definition cannot be aware of this state you are in. The only way to win this debate is if we changed the terms to maybe a forecast of whether Hocker will have a great career, however that is defined. I am simply smarter than you in instilling some caution by reminding you of Wheaton. You are suffering from the inability to disentangle the last decade from what was the case in 2010.

Nope! Ya lost! I'm not even the only one in this thread who has said so, and I don't see ANYONE agreeing with you.
Wheating NEVER did ANYTHING as great as run an indoor mile in 3:50 at age 19. The promise from that moment on was greater than any promise Wheating ever had at any age.
Ya lost!
You can't even remember your boy's name. It's Wheating...that's twice at least now. Let's not get crazy thinking you are smarter than I am. Get serious!
Ya lost!
If you were smarter you might wonder why they cannot run as fast outdoors.
Moron it is the technology which is spelling his name incorrectly. You really are more arrogant than ignorant, which I was not sure was possible.

Youngest 1500 meter NCAA champ ever. Ya lost!

Well,,,in 110 years anyway.
You possess the maturity of Stoppit Smith who would start yelling from the rooftops that he won a thread. You are in good company.

Wheating whiffed on living up to his potential after his 3:30 like almost no one has in the modern era. So it's a bit far-fetched to expect Hocker to follow that path.
All signs point to him being and continuing to be one of the best Americans. Maybe ever.

CORRECT! [I added the clarifying "Hocker" in bold.]
