What on earth did Centro do today?
What on earth did Centro do today?
Obv Centro knew he was way past peak, kinda fried physically/mentally... so grab the easy $1k instead of getting rekt for 5-8th.
Centro will be back. Remember that this dude absolutely destroyed the field at USA's and just got caught by Hocker's savage kick, even though he's past his prime. He also ran a 3:49 mile PR that was paced terribly (54 first lap and pacer only held to 800m).
1. He's past his prime but he's still USA GOAT
2. He peaked too early and got stale or something (same but even worse with Clayton Murphy... he would've won Olympics if he was in Trials form in August)

This is not true.
Go back a look at recent men Olympic 800m final. No matter how fit Clayton Murphy could have been for final, Murphy would not have taken the lead with 550m to go when paced slowed. That is not Murphy's style of racing, racing from the front on first lap. Olympic 800m final was won with a sub-38 final 300m. Murphy was not going to outkick Emmanuel Korir.
I think Rojo is correct, Centro will be let go from BTC and he is very upset.

I have Korir roughly through 500m in 1:07.1 and Murphy through 500m in trials in 1:06.1.
Murph final time 1:43.1, Korir is 1:45.07.
Pretty sure that means Murph closed faster last 300m in US Trials than Korir did in Olympic finals. Korir had faster last 200m. Yeah if it was a straight all out last 200m, prob would give it to Korir.
How come the great one, Matt Centro, did not compete at the Millrose Games. He was hanging out there, but just did not think that he had to prove himself as a runner. What do these BTC runners get paid to do, talk and show off?
He said on the Citius Mag pod he was visiting his dad.

You cannot do that. U.S. Olympic Trials are far more laid back than Olympics. No opening day parade. No 1/2 a dozen to a dozen time zone difference. Murphy lost his sub-38 final 300m ability according to you? We are close to agreement on Olympic 500m split, Olympic 800m final. I don't know about your U.S. Olympic Trial 500m split, 800mF.

I guess thats what Nike pays him to do. At least the Union Athletic Club showed up.
