I see only trashy shoes on regular runners. These are shoes with thick spongy soles and lousy stretchy mesh that do nothing but give your feet and knees problems.
I wonder what these Olympians wear for their hard training. Surely they can't wear such shoes.
My ideal training shoe includes the following:
1. Minimal soles. I don't want my foot moving all over the place by spongy thick soles.
2. Stretchy unstable mesh shoes are not welcome unless they are somehow reinforced with something other than the mesh.
3. Shoe laces that once tied are no more than an inch apart. This has been a big problem in a lot of shoes like the New Balance Minimus 20v7 where shoe laces are 2 or 3 inches apart which ends up hurting the top of your foot.
4. Shoes that weigh no more than 8 ounces. Heavier shoes really affect your running gate and speed.
All the shoes I see runners wearing on the street are trashy. So I was wondering what the Olympians wear and if anyone has any recommendations.
