However bad things appear to be currently in Australia there is unfortunately this.

If you forcefully lockdown your population, restrict public gatherings with threats of imprisonment or fines, impose curfews and even restrict how far one can travel from their homes then you will probably not only see less contagious disease deaths but also less motor vehicle and deaths in general.
Now, the down side is that you are essentially living in a police state on par with that of North Korea. I say “on par with North Korea” with not much hyperbole. Even in North Korea until about 2019 citizens wouldn’t have the same restrictions placed on them in regards to a curfew or freedom to gather that we now see in Australia.
Now, at the end of the day it’s all a matter of opinion but I would much rather (and did) take the additional 1% chance of death then live under the boot of a tyrannical nanny state as we see in Australia.

Actually, it's about a pandemic, in which those who come from a country that has failed to respond adequately to the pandemic are choosing to attack Australia and New Zealand for their response.

LOL, and you're piece of crap country has done so well!!!!!
your....just to make you happy ole man.
Most of us would prefer to live in a country where people don't die from the disease. I live in one such, which has had only 26 Covid deaths, has no community transmission, and enjoys freedoms you (and North Koreans) can only dream of. I've also just had my vaccine, along with increasing numbers of us, so it looks as though we will be alive and free. I'll take that over anywhere else, currently.

Yet you are happy to provide me with company. Tell me more about the land that leads the world for Covid deaths and infections.

You can read a title but that is the extent of your contribution. The rest is empty flatulence.
I can also guarantee you that I am not your sweetheart. That fate is reserved for some other unfortunate individual.
From this morning- Sydney extends lockdown again until August 28th.
Thank God I don’t live in Sydney. The lockdowns are just never ending.

This is going to be the new normal in Australia for the foreseeable future unless the Australian authorities adjust their expectations. They’ve stated many times they want next to zero community transmission before they can open up society fully again (forget about foreign travelers for the next year +). Seeing how contagious and wide spread these new strains are I just don’t think “zero community transmission” is attainable & manageable over a long period of time. Even if fully vaxxed we know the virus can spread.

Now, now... There's no shame in admitting you have got an episode of flatulence.
Now please stay on topic.
Thank you, sweetheart.

I wonder how long people are going to put up with that.
I don't mean the ones who were protesting. I mean the ones who are now in favor of these lockdowns.
You'll probably find they can handle it for a long time as the ones for it are generally retired people scared of their own shadows, white collar and other people who can work from home on full pay and those who have doomscrolled their way into being petrified of covid and believe vaccination provides full protection from catching and transmitting the coof (despite the continually mounting evidence to the contrary, this is an alarmingly high number).
As for those who are unable to work, have kids doing home based learning and mounting bills, as the old saying goes, sucks to be you.
