I almost never do an easy run over 5 miles. But I typically double those up to make it a 5/5 day. On workout days I do get in highish volume (12+ miles at least), and do about 2-3 workout days per week.
I am typically just pretty beat from the workout days, so an easy 5/5 double feels best for recovery. Will this impede long term progression by barely ever just running 8-10 miles easy?
