Kessler will be the biggest anti-climax in that race after Centro.
Hocker, Nuguse and Engels qualify, the rest goes home.
One down, one to go.

Lol.
How fast was Hocker’s last lap?
Centro, Hocker, Engels - easy
Half the final went to college in Oregon. 3 more train there now.

The way Engels ran the Semi, I think he is the odd man out

You mean how he sat on the rail and expended the least amount of energy possible until he kicked at the end to easily win and walk off unwinded? That way?

This right here. He was lucky, that Holt is soft and let him through.
Also after watching the last straight several times I get a suspicion, that Nuguse has a slightly better kick.
Engels (andy everyone else) needs to watch every Centro's race and try to analyse and emulate. It's not that Centro's pure kick is better, but it's rather the way he concerves energy through the race and puts himself in the right position for the kick.

I can guarantee you that every US high school, college and pro runner has analyzed Centro’s races and tried to emulate them. He is literally the US gold standard for championship racing.

1. Centro 3:32.68
2. Engels 3:32.91
3. Nuguse 3:33.24
4. Hocker 3:33.61
Afterward, Centro finally breaks 3:30 in Europe this summer, Engels runs 3:31 and Nuguse hits 1:45.low. Hocker returns to win NCAA XC in the fall, and runs 13:05 and 3:30 as a 20 year old. "

This is true patriotism! You have great confidence in 31 year old Centro who set his PB at 25!
I am more positive on Hocker but I don´t think he can run 13:05 and 3:30 this year.
I doubt very much Engels at 27 can better his PB with 3 seconds. If he did it would be suspicious!
I meant for the 2022 Indoor/outdoor season. Sorry if the age is wrong.

Doesn't just about every elite 1500m runner position himself for a kick? I've watched countless championship 1500s and except for 2016, the favorites are at the front when it counts. How exactly does he conserve energy?

I would not be surprised if Hocker ran 13:05 and 3:30 next season if he continues to train well.
Outdoors it would, however, be most likely to happen in Monaco which normally is in July or August so after Hocker has turned 21.

I knew Nuguse is gonna beat Engels. I think Hocker, Centro and Nuguse are all in 3:32 shape.
What about now?
