Has anybody transitioned from minor strength training with kettle bells and dumbbells to strictly body weight and plyometrics for marathon running? I’ve done a lot of kettlebell work and dumbbells and have felt like I’ve not been as springy in my runs and feel more front heavy and stocky in my legs. That durability has been nice but it’s starting to feel like it’s getting in the way of some daily runs I do.
When you switch or stop, what exactly happens? Muscle atrophy? Do they get smaller? Do you just keep what you use for running?
