Will be running 5 and 10k and this is what I’m planning my base phase to look like...
Two week cycle
M easy
T threshold workout (something like 5x1600)
W medium long run
T easy+ short hills (just keeping in touch with the speed, not a hard session)
F- vO2 workout (10x400 a little slower than 5k pace)
S easy
S long run
M easy
T 8 mile marathon paced tempo
W easy
T easy+ hills
F another generic threshold workout
S easy
S long run
Would basically cycle thru these weeks and slightly adjust workout or rep length to chance things up.
I’m not sure if weekly speed work with the hills is entirely necessary, maybe twice a week?
My idea with this was to do a couple 150s or 200s at mile pace, then something like 3x50m hills, all with full recovery just to keep the legs moving in the off season.
