I bet she has another world champs in her. In the steeple. You heard it here first. She'll go back to the steeple and take down Emma.
She is NOT taking down Coburn. Heck, Coburn has a faster 1500 this year than Simpson (4:04.28 to 4:06.18) despite it not even being her event. Coburn's hurdling mechanics are about as good as any steeplechaser. Simpson could POSSIBLY squeeze in for the third spot now that it seems like Quigley may be done. If she works at it for a year she might have a small chance of making the team for Eugene Worlds. As others have noted, Father Time is catching up with her.
Don't forget that the steeple barriers are ridiculously low for women, and for someone who once were good at the event it shouldn't take much training to get back to it. Of course she'll have to improve her 1500/3000 shape back what it was as well...
