Will not disagree. I wished that Elle had taken off those glasses during the interview though.
Tough for Hiltz, finishing last. Having been caught up in the shoving, I don't know whether that was too much of a distraction or what.

Seems like karma for Hiltz.
Focus on running, not some weird corporate/neoliberal ideology.
Klecker dropped an “ef yeah” on Friday night too, but maybe 10:30 pm isn’t prime time…

So you think someone's gender identity is bad karma.
More old white people reasoning here.

Kinda sad and embarrassing you would post this. You must really hate yourself if you’re making comments about other people (someone who you have never met and don’t know at all) like this
Tonight's results are why I disagree with those who argued the first round of the 1500 should have been canceled in favor of a semis/finals format. Without those prelims, Simpson, Hiltz, Aragon, etc. might have grabbed that third (or even second) spot in the final. After tonight's race, its pretty obvious that any one of those runners would have a hard time advancing past the semis in the Olympics. Instead, we know the three women we are sending to Tokyo can handle two rounds and still run fast times in the final.

I mean Ellie did 3:58 with that nasty shove. insane she was able to come back so easily.
I just watched replay of the race. It sure looked like MacLean instigated that whole kerfuffle, barging right into Osika who in turn nudged Hiltz and ended up with Puurier getting knocked into the infield. Osika might have grounds for getting McLean DQd
I was also thinking osika might protest. Anyone know? Lots of falling by Maclean in these rounds.

Maclean started in lane/position 13 and 30 meters into the race had crossed over 4 runners, subsequently barging into both Osika and Simpson. And then again at the 100m mark she starts flailing with Simpson and Mehra.
With that hug at the end, Jenny ended her great career in a classy way.

RIP Dani Jones. In contention most of the race but bombed the last 300m. Team New Balance is DEEP in women’s distance
Brave race by Dani. She'll be a contender in three years.
Yeah I appreciated the fact that she went for it, just not quite strong enough yet. She’ll get there.
The f bomb was so pure, I loved it — it’s been so refreshing seeing the joy from the qualifiers, I’d forgotten what it’s like watching that. The 100m hurdler’s interview yesterday was wonderful too.

I thought it was hilarious hearing Elle say "I'm so f'ing excited" on live TV reacting to seeing her NB teammates finish in the top 3 with her. She's so real haha.
The F Bomb on live TV was classic.
Sha Carri was and continues to be crucified for doing the same on here. But there I go crying racism.
As with many things here, this post is useless without pics.
Enjoy.
You know NB have a mid-d super spike, right?

I don't know what the rules are, but if that wasn't breaking it then they aren't fit for purpose. The speed at which the outer runners moved in wasn't safe and it's lucky that Elle (clearly the best 1500m medal hope the US has) wasn't knocked over fully and taken out of the race.

NB execs have to be happy with that race
+1
Best middle distance super spikes.

Remind me again, what logo will those athletes be wearing in Tokyo?
Yeah this is an issue tho. At least in other sports you can wear sponsors on your jersey or whatever. Maybe we wouldn't have so many (financially) struggling pros with different rules on this.

Commentators breathed a sigh of relief. They won't have to hold back on personal pronouns in Tokyo.

Yeah, the only runner who moved in aggressively was MacLean. Runners with bibs 9 through 12 held their lane positions mostly throughout the first straight and gradually merged into the turn. Except for Maclane who had shifted 4+ lane positions before the 30m mark and continued to shoulder her way in till the turn
