Only 90 pound to 180 pound 100m to 5000m track & field athletes use PEDs. Everyone knows that!
2 THE GILLS!!!
Ryan Crouser - 6'7", 320 lbs
Randy Barnes - 6'5", 291 lbs
Height and weight both play a factor in the shot put.
Barnes was a convicted PED user.
31 years of advancements in training, nutrition, etc.
Crouser has been extremely consistent with 10 of the top-18 throws of all-time.
Make your own call.
I say we have a clean SP record for once.
Name an instance of Ryan Crouser being brought into question as a doper by anyone who matters (Example...none of you).
The rotational technique is superior but makes in a way a different event. The rotators had some huge throws early on but usually had too many fouls in the 1980s and 90s, therefore it was not as competitive. (And doping leveled the playing field, so often the gliders were more successful.)
By now it is clearly superior although it seems to produce grotesquely big athletes (i.e. they seem to have a big advantage) in a way neither the older shot put technique nor discus necessarily does.

LOL!
The dude has been a shot putting phenom for a long time. He's a very athletic big man. With age, he's gained more mass and strength. People could predict this outcome years ago. He's always been that good. He will break his own record again and maybe again over the next few years.
Yeah, I'll +2 this. To me, the only time I really question it is when a huge mark or time comes out of nowhere, but Crouser has been hitting huge throws for a long time, he was due imo.
I remember seeing a video of him dunking a shot put at the University of Texas after Rio, might just be a freak athlete
