I'm very confused by this post. If it were anything less than an acute injury wouldn't she go ahead and try to run anyway? Maybe she had a niggling pain and thought it might get better before the trials. I dunno.

"Issues with my body". Indeed. That is the only honest statement in this whole sordid affair.
Can she be any more obvious as to what is going on?
Can anyone name a single Trials competitor who has dropped out due to the GENERIC "issues with her body" excuse? Anyone?
Intestinal distress from multiple trips to the Burrito truck? Possible. She may have developed a variant of IBS. Could be.

I wrote the above a little carelessly. Something is "off kilter" meaning that I think there is something going on with her that is serious and needs to be kept private. No burrito jokes please, that's not waht I'm saying. I hope she is okay.
Why did she specifically mention her body if you think it may be a mental issue? Who would do that? Osaka did not do that. No one would say the word "body".
Pregnancy? IBS from too many toxic burritos?
What bothers me the most with her is how her insta has just become an ad space that is always her smiling and beaming and happy. Not that that is wrong. But she shares zero reality of being a runner. Literally why did she not once share her recent struggles? Not even mention them?
This is so fake and I’d much rather follow someone who is genuine.
There is no other athlete that triggers so many weird reactions on LRC. It's like incels anonymous around here
exactly, and she has not posted any training in the last months. Anyone training for the trials would be posting a lot of training or something substantial, so it's not a huge surprise.

Um, wasn't all of 2020 a break?
Not if one over-trained.
She clearly knew she wasn't going to run when she posted that post about how she was going make her second Olympic team in two weeks.
If she had zero intention of running at that time, then she didn't risk delivering on that promise. And brings attention to her
I dunno, I used to like following her because she was actually up front about her injury struggles (with the pool, etc). But then she became super secretive and crappy about it. Like pulling out of Doha the day before, taking the spot from someone else who could have run.

Keep training her hard until she had to be put down.
Have a physio claim to have peed in her cornflakes.
Clearly you are entitled to be owed that by complete strangers.

There are certain names (Kara, Alexi, Colleen) that are catnip for the LRCMB incels. See if there's a common thread.
She’s DONE.
We’ll never see her in a major meet again. Writing is on the wall
In a previous post she had said she was glad to be out of Nike shoes and was trying other brands. One of the brands she tried was lululemmon's running shoe that is coming to market soon. That shoe gave her planter faciitias and she is been dealing with it since.

I bet lululemon feel like absolute clowns after giving her a massive contract. I wonder if they had any idea she was injured and wouldn't even compete. I mean she is 28 what are the chances she will be able to come back from the injury and still be top 3 in America at 31/32 years of age?

LOL
She is obviously an attention addict. But the steeple is still week enough for her to come back an grab a spot for the next wc or olympics. If she gets her injuries under control...

I bet Lulu has a huge market of highschool girls who never would've looked twice at their stuff that are now buying it to run in regardless of whether Colleen is in the Trials. I think they knew exactly what they were getting, which is moving from athleisure moms to highschool girls.
Colleen's got more of Alexi's influence in her life lately, and IMO that's a good thing. Whether the Shelby situation spooked her, she's not ready, her new sponsor isn't pressuring, or some combination, she has every right to be vague/nervous/rehearsed-sounding in this video. Based on her friendship with Alexi, I would say she's trying to carve a new path for herself. Haters will say she'll never be fast again, but maybe she'll be "fast enough" in addition to many other entrepreneurial things she decides to do (and yes, probably that will include modeling/influencing). More power to her for getting out of BTC and trying something new, even though I don't know that she has half the chutzpah of Pappas. She has also posted in the past about how she has a hard time making friends and had a hard time being part of the BTC crew. She sounds like someone a bit isolated and confused. But in the same position, at that age, wouldn't a lot of us?
