Wow! A surprise. And not a surprise. Sad and odd. We all are prone to think “there’s more to this story”.

Don't run and don't post about it. Huge ego and Huge insecurity issues. Going down hill fast and has to make excuses, but making sure to leave the door open for more races....yawn! Between Kara Goucher and her, I don't know which one is more arrogant?
quote;
Have you ever had the feeling that the harder you try to make something work, the harder it becomes and the less progress you make? It’s beyond frustrating and unfortunately, something I’ve been feeling for over the last few months as I’ve been dealing with various injuries.
Earlier this week, I had to come to terms with the fact that my body needs a break. I‘ve been looking forward to the opportunity to compete in Tokyo since I got on the plane home from Rio in 2016, but I’m very sad to share that I won’t be able to line up on the track to qualify for my second Olympics and my 6th USA Team on Sunday.
This is not a decision I take lightly and I am absolutely heartbroken knowing that I won’t have the opportunity to compete on behalf Team USA.
After the Olympics were postponed last year, I took time to reset and reevaluate many aspects of my life. I put 100% effort into setting myself up for success going into 2021. I chose to leave a training environment that was no longer right for me. I chose a new coach that I believe in and know is the right coach for the athlete I have grown into. I chose a new partner that aligns with my values and supports all aspects of me as a human, not just as an athlete.
The changes have been hard - change is always hard. But they’ve also been exactly what I needed.
So what’s next? I’m playing the long game. I’m going to focus on my career as a whole, not just the result of one race or one summer. I’m gonna give myself the rest I need — both mentally and physically — and I will make sure that when I get back to training and racing, that I’m doing it for me and me alone, because everyone who matters to me is already with me.
I can’t promise how I’m going to feel after posting this, or tomorrow, or even next week but I can promise you one thing: after taking some time to rest up, I’ll be back.
In the meantime, you know I’ll be cheering so hard for my brothers and sisters on #TeamUSA as they compete in Tokyo later this summer

And it's hard to pick an injury that would prevent you from competing but also allow you to train at 100% this whole time.
there's some giant number of American women who consider themselves to be mentally ill. And with cain and pappas getting lots of press about their mental illnesses, it can get contagious.
on the other hand, Jenkins drops from the 10,000, says something vague like 'my body just shut down' and we don't call that mental illness. Maybe jenkins clarified, I don' tknow. But maybe quigley is having a similar 'shut down.'
I wonder how her sponsor feels as she got her sponsorship then announced too tired to run?
When she stated in a previous post "Sticking with a red, white, and blue motif until I make my second Olympic team in 2 weeks from today 🇺🇸" she put a big giant target on her back. Her last post is code for "I'm too afraid to line up and get beat".
No. Not what he said. Many women claim to have mental illness. Jenkins won't claim that but she will. Cain and Ostrander have eating disorders and need help. Many women have depression and need help. That is the rout that she will take. She will be so brave while Jenkins will be a wimp for dropping out.
I did find an interview from last week where she stated she was dealing with plantar fasciitis. If that's the case though, why not say that in your video? Why so cryptic?
Track and Field is a joke and has been for a while. The corruption of Nike controlling USATF. The idiocy of allowing Eugene to host every major championship as opposed to rotating around large US cities. The head case athletes. The rampant drug cheating. Such a disgrace. Who wants to watch this schit?
Hardly a loss. She would have had her doors blown off by Leah Falland.

What would Bob Baffert do?
Keep training her hard until she had to be put down.
Several things:
- She had a "body double" to run a steeple for her video footage or photos or whatever.
- Someone posted something on a different thread about her being in a PT office for a hip injury.
- She is generally always injured.
- She hasn't raced since that 3k she did right after leaving BTC.
- Former teammate gets popped for tainted burrito.
Under the circumstances before burritogate, she wasn't going to make top 3. Maybe this particular week put her over the edge.
I don't think Lulu cares if she runs or not. She is just an "ambassador" for them at this point, a lifestyle fitness model with a following. And you know what? They may still be getting their money's worth.
I don't understand this. I believe it was yesterday she posted a picture of herself at Hayward Field. Seemed to just be enjoying her final days before the steeple round 1 on Sunday. No mention whatsoever of any possibility that she might not run. Kind of like going to Doha just to DNS.
Guys enough with the conspiracy.
Colleen has had injury problems for years. She hasn't had a healthy year of competing since 2017.
Sooooooo......Val?

She wasn't making the top 3, period. That's NOT a conspiracy theory, it's reality. Doesn't matter when she raced last, she opened her mouth up about moving up from 3rd place to a higher place how recent ago??? Exactly, she wasn't going to make top 3, accept it pal. Her instagram short theatrical story is damage control at best. Believe it or not.
+1
Maybe Trump was right after all..a wall would have kept those pesky pork offal salesmen on the other side and we could be winning gold!
Seems really shady and coincidental for Squigs to claim an injury at this moment.
She must be glowing brighter than the 4th of July.
Maybe she slipped something in Shelby's drink causing a positive test and now feels kind of bad about it.

on the broadcast the reporters said he talked to jenkins and the quote was pretty much exactly 'he said his body shut down.'
maybe jenkins clarified afterwards.
