Those sort of odd-distance ladder-ish workouts (e.g. 600s, 300s, 500, 300, 200) are really tough to nail the paces, especially when done alone.
Seems almost like a taper workout.
No wild paces.

All his videos are quality, shame he doesn't have more views.
Solid workout
Sounds weird with an Olympic Bronze, but he'll be a dark-horse to make the team. I didn't select him Top 3... but this looks pretty good. He's not lean enough yet, but maybe his talent and experience get him there.. was hoping he'd close in 24.8 or thereabouts.. he was close.
Maboi looking good!
Great video, really a gem. Surprised he doesn't have more subscribers.
Also surprised at the paces. Aside from the 300s, the 600s weren't that fast. Really makes me re-think a lot of the all-out workouts I see people doing.
It is clear the hay is in the barn and he was just going for fast-but-relaxed. Which is how he looked today.

He’s looking good! Imagine an American medal sweep.

The point is relaxed speed. Same thing the Ingebrigtsens do, just a slightly different workout. If you can run 90 for 600 relaxed repeatedly, 78-80 isn’t a tall ask for a one-off race. I think Murphy knows he can always close in 25.XX.
These are the kind of workouts that made Murphy good in the first place and won him a bronze. NOP screwed him up by trying to have him run too much mileage. Relaxed speed is the key in the 800. Glad he’s back with his old coach and he looks primed for another Olympic medal.

While unlikely, this is certainly possible if Hoppel can find his form. Also, no way the team isn’t Brazier, Murphy, and Hoppel after Monday. Harris is a good runner, but he’s not on their level. Kidder and the college guys have no chance.
People think he is a dark horse or won't make the top 3 because he hasn't done much racing or even had stellar 800 results, but this man knows when to show up when it counts. He has looked good in both the 1st round and semi and he looks relaxed and hasn't pushed himself too hard yet. He obviously has the speed and he has the strength considering he's had some solid 1500/mile results. I think he'll make the team.

Hard not to root for Harris, but I don't think he even has the olympic standard. He'd have to hope to get in based on world ranking should he place top 3 I believe.

I believe hoppel has his form. It’s just unfortunately been an off week for him. He has ran a solid bit faster this season and has looked a lot more relaxed too. I wonder if he has a cold or something. I still think he could be the gold medal man this year.
Murphy has been racing well this year back with his college coach but most importantly for the first time I've seen him in years actually looking confident and happy. He was down on his training and racing ever since Brazier eclipsed him, or so it seemed to me. It is great to see him that confident again.

If Harris finishes top 3, it will require the Olympic standard time. He just needs to focus on closing. He’s been dying at the end of the first 2 rounds.
1:43.13 and looked easy.
1:43.17 official and negative split! 51.67/51.50. He has another gear for sure.
So stoked for Murphy. Heart broken for brazier but I’ve most definitely been rooting for Murphy to at least make the last year or so.
Do we think Murphy is in AR shape? I think pacing owes him at least half a second.
To at least make the team* the last year or so
