I ran about 8 miles at about 5:52 pace average on a track yesterday (3:39 min/km). Extremely consistent kilometre splits, and felt relaxed. Some wind. Could have gone further, but didn't wish to dig too deep. Thus a tempo run, but I find it impossible to place the effort level on a 'lactate threshold' to 'steady state' scale, as people use these terms very differently. I prefer it when people just give anecdotal evidence: that would be the typical pace I would run when in such and such a 5km or 10km shape.
I didn't immediately any such evidence via a google search, so if anybody can provide some I'd be happy to hear it!
