I'm ashamed at how the LRC founders are handling this situation. It's obvious here that Houlihan got caught doping, and the only real question in my mind is whether Schumacher and Flanagan were aware. That he could deny even knowing what nandralone is, when it's his BUSINESS to know, raises many red flags.
I feel that if this were almost any other athlete...if it were a black sprinter, or a Turkish middle distance runner, or an Ethiopian marathoner, this would be open and shut. But because it's Schumacher, because it's Houlihan, all of a sudden the same people who have excoriated Caster Semenya, who have convicted Regina Jacobs without evidence, who have condemned so many, are crying for justice and how this is a tragedy.
Oh there is a tragedy unfolding alright, and it's happening right here at this website, and to this sport that I have lived in my whole life as the son of a coach, and a competitive runner. It is the ruination of the sport by people like Houlihan, and shills like the LRC staff.
