sucks but it sounds like this is typical. You can play foot ball and never see the field one time and get a varsity letter. You were on the team, so you get a letter. Track aint messing around it sounds. Sounds like an award for performance standards rather than being on the team like most sports. They are kids, I feel like if you are on the varsity team AND performing in varsity meets (regularly), you get a letter. Whats the big deal.
