Meet Brittany Aveni, recruited as a 56/2:07 (4th at NB Outdoor Nationals)/5:07/18:44 XC (16th at OHSAA),
has morphed into a top sprinter with 11.35/22.96/51.60, ACC champ in the 400 and 4x4, academic awards and did very well for her school relays, making the 400, 4x1 and 4x4 NCAA finals.
She only has been running the 400 seriously for about a year and the 100/200 just this season. I suspect she will be a good pickup for a pro team (but has to weigh against her acceptance into NC State vet school), I see potential for 50.xx in the next year. Combined with her 18:44 XC PR, one of the best ranges I have seen for a young athlete, and with a "reverse event progression" from XC/800 to a solid 100/200 performer. I can't say I have seen comparable before.
