Yes all credit to her.
Kimeli was too busy celebrating her "victory" to actually win.

she didn't celebrate at all. Watch the video. Kimeli went all out all the way to the line.
https://twitter.com/NCAATrackField/status/1403843987950247939What’s up with Anna Cockrell starting about 6 inches behind the start line?
She need she extra space so she doesn't run into the first hurdle.
She did throw up her right hand about 2.5 meters out though doubtful that cost her as she was already passed at that point.

Sturgis 10.74!! 2.2,m/s
I'm updating the scores as it happens.
Will Mu break meet record of 49.80? Collegiate record of 49.68?
I think she'll run 49.21
Record is going down. This is good 400m weather.
Mu 49.57!!
She is going to win the 800 Trials next week

She's running the hurdles, not a flat 100m. So, you set your start at a point that your stride pattern will line you up correctly for going over the first hurdle.
It's probably something she and her coach have worked on for a long time to make sure she hits the first hurdle with the highest speed possible.

she's 5 10, maybe to give her space to the first hurdle?
Well now we get to see how they will set up the 10-person 800m final with 9 lanes.
Protest in the triple jump. What could they be protesting? A foul call by a judge is not challengeable I do not believe.

Pretty much tied for second when you factor altitude.
Damn, the youtube link just went down. Only option looks like Spanish on ESPN.com. ¡Ay, caramba!
