None of those guys did what Boling has done to deserve the hype. That is why. Not complicated.
In the next outdoor championships, he shouldn't deserve the hype. That is how it works.

I disagree. In fact, next champs he should get more hype, because his story is now more interesting. Redemption always reads best.
And the other 2, r u kidding me? Do you even follow sprints?
Hype isn't the same thing as being a story btw. Not sure if you know that.
And please tell me how they "overhyped" him on the broadcast. I just listened to it again. They spent all the time talking about the other runners except the last 5 seconds where they said, "And don't FORGET Mathew Boling". And for being the fastest high school runner of all time, and only .04 off the leaders in the semis, not much hype there at all, but let's not get your black friends in a hissy fit about him again.
So for the hype you are so worried about, please show me where they overhype him? Or is this another one of those, let's say they did but didn't.
And I have no other what other 2 you are talking about. And to your demeaning question, no, i don't follow track as all. I just spend my time on a Sunday afternoon talking about random college kids with strangers cause I prefer ship building.
I was posting between sets of a sprint workout. That’s sprint interest.
Boling was hyped in sprintdom. I don’t listen to the tv broadcasts.
I hope you had a great spring workout. I have no idea what that has to do with being interested in sprints. Me posting here at all answers that silly question. I have yet to see my friends, or anyone I know doing that cause they don't give a crap about it. That's how you can tell without really needing to ask.
The TV guys, the guys where the VAST majority of people watch to get their HYPE news, didn't HYPE the white guy at all. They did throw a bone for your black friends in case they need more of the hype train that got you rattled, or whatever.
If you don't think the fastest high school guy of all time, who just rocked it at the indoor meet a few months ago doesn't deserve a little bit of the, let's keep an eye on him, then I don't know what to tell you other than some internal bias running there imo.
But next year for indoors, I am afraid, you will have to hear that poor hype train again for him, being the defending champion and all. Sorry you have to deal with that since you are the spring guy and we are all playing world of warcraft all day.
He might be suffering from early symptoms of the Asafa syndrome
He should get treatment ASAP
Carol will fix the problem.
A good 200m performance in the OT and all the negative talk goes away.
…too much worthless weight training

some guys don't do well with heats. and don't recover fully.
fact.
like converted sprinter mamede. ran 400 relays in OG.
frickin guy figures out how to do 10k, set a WR, but after heats, he was f***ed.
for this miracle he was called a choker.
same as rupp, after a hard final, he's lost the edge.
it's not that hard to figure.
but for the public, it is.
then again pay no attention to the general public, who, by definition, have never done anything.
check powell\s record in straight up finals without heats.

yep
run just the 200, and 2 meters faster.
on the team.
Actually, you just overhype him in your post. He is not the fastedt hs kid of all time. No one that knows anything about t&f should ever tout a wind aided time as the best. I am pretty sure you have never said or considered obadale thompsons as the fastest collegiate 100m guy or Andre Degrasse as the fastest collegiate 200 meter guy. If you think he is not over hyped, at least early on, you have not viewed any of the dozen of you tube videos doing just that. With Caryl Smith Gilbert coming to town, he will finally live up to the hype. If he does not, it won't be because of coaching.
And way slower than Christophe Lamaitre ran at 20 so what is your point with bringing up borzov?

Fastest HS 100m run under all conditions.
Fastest HS 100m run in a HS race.
Number 1 in HS in 100m, 200m, and the long jump.
Sub 45 second 4 x 400 anchor leg.
Sure a lot of us became more interested in him as he is white, but the hype and expectations were all justified.
Right because underperforming is the same as underperforming all season. Being in college 2yrs (don't give me that freshman crap) and still running your hs time in the 100 and the 200 times after running 20.19 indoors are the epitome of underperforming. I am cool with a comparison but don't give me false equivalence to make a point.
To add to your post, Boling was really a freshman indoor. Micah Williams win the 60m as a true freshman, had the second fastest legal 100m going into the meet, had the fastest semi but was not getting nearly as much love as boling.
And none of what you just said matters. Not putting the qualifier under all conditions is oveelr hype because it gives the false impression that he was actually the fastest ever which was my point. Pull out you wind calculator and it will confirm he is not the fastest. He is great but the overhype like you espouse is why people push back. Just judge him the way most sprinters have been judged. Although we know why, Flojo is the fastest women ever. However no one with eyes and a brain base it off that windy 10.49.

Really? None of the following facts (feel free to dispute if you think they are inaccurate) "matter":
Fastest HS 100m run under all conditions.
Fastest HS 100m run in a HS race.
Number 1 in HS in 100m, 200m, and the long jump.
Sub 45 second 4 x 400 anchor leg.
I have to disagree with you. That resume does seem to justify a lot of expectations and hype.
