But luckily in Norway we dont believe that. And we will not be cheaters "because everyone else is doing it". We believe in a clean sport and will play by the rules. Its more important to be able to look yourself in the mirror and know you didnt cheat, than to win.
Your nationalism and pride mean nothing if one of your countrymen decides to dope.
Ofc the ticket towards starting with doping can be said to be significant cheaper if you are from a country where its almost socially accepted, like in Russia compared to Norway, where you would be reckoned as persona non grata if you were caught cheating yourself to the very top.
The consequential damages would be of a whole different level. Also towards your colleagues whom in Norway would be seen as shady and inedible because of your own actions.
The danger of losing the respect among your fellow citiziens on national level and to be looked upon as a filthy cheater is a heavy burden in a small country like Norway. Especially for those who stribes for glory. There aint much glory left if u end up being 4ever looked down upon from the eyes of your own countrymen.
In lots of countries doping is almost seen as something everyone does, where you either choose to cheat or miss the chance for glory. Not in Norway. Not even close.
