Really?
Really?
Don’t say really just because they aren’t a power 5 school. They’ve had a whole host of amazing runners on there team for ages now.

I’m not saying that. I’m just asking who expected this.

I doubt if anyblue chip American runners would want to run there, so I assume their amazing runners have been foreigners. It was the same thing with U.T.E.P. for many years.

That’s not true. Tulsa has quite a few blue collar American runners. It’s just not the choice of destination for the top American high schoolers. Tulsa isn’t as appealing California or Colorado or Flagstaff.

I checked the NCAA XC results and Tulsa's 7 runners did not include a single blue collar patriot.

The blue collar runners of tulsa aren’t in the top 7… like I said, top American recruits don’t choose tulsa. Just a bunch of local-ish kids

My first post was that these amazing runners they've had were likely to have been foreigners and I'm correct. A local kid wouldn't have a prayer of making the team so I don't know why any of them would want to walk-on there.
The OP's question was "Why Tulsa" and the answer is that they give scholarships to foreign runners.
Tulsa has a rich history of studs, as many have pointed out, and an excellent coaching staff. They have also cultivated an ethos of hard work and an incredible sense of team and comraderie. Dever and many of their other runners log all their training publicly on Strava and all of this is evident.

If Tulsa had a fifth guy, they would have made the podium but they would not have won
