My thoughts on Kamala Harris:
1) She is super smart.
2) She was my second-favorite choice of all the Presidential candidates behind Amy Klobuchar.
3) I do not think it is a given that she will be the next President or ever President at all.
4) I still think that women have an uphill battle as far as getting elected President in this country. As PROGRESSIVE as Democrats say they are, our top two candidates were old (REALLY OLD) white men. Part of that was that we were going for someone we thought the masses would vote for so we could get that POS Trump out of office, but we (Democrats) still have not embraced women for the top job (I have, but Democrats as a whole have not).
5) Kamala Harris appears to me to not have the best social skills. No harm in that really, other than it is something that could make her unelectable for the top job. While I think she would be a great President, I think it is a big mistake for Democrats to assume she will be President one day, and if I were a betting man (I'm not), I would not bet that she ever will be. The potential situation reminds me of Bob Dole where he kind of assumed he had earned The Presidency...well, nope, it doesn't work that way, and just because Harris is VP, even if she has that job for 8 years, she isn't entitled to the Presidency. Also, if Biden is in for 8 years, after that, it will really be a change election, and if the GOP is able to pull its head out of its ass, it will be a tough victory for ANY Democrat then (if history holds true).
