I've been running casually for about the past 4 or 5 years. I currently use Brooks Glycerin shoes, but need to upgrade them as I've had them for over 2 1/2 years and approximately 1000km. I bought them specifically as a mid-distance shoe that supports supination. My knees and ankles are starting to get quite sore as I'm running anything over 10km.
The Brooks Glycerins have always been okay, but I seem to have the same issue every year (even prior to the Brooks) where I seem to pronate on my left foot but supinate on my right foot. So the Brooks seem to support my right foot well (that supinates) but I find when I run that my left foot (that pronates) always feels a little bit off and it ends up somewhat throwing my body out of alignment.
I warm up and stretch well before I run and stretch after I run. I also stretch every morning as a part of my routine. The higher distances I get in to (10km+) the more I start to feel as if my body alignment is being affected and my joints and hips start to hurt (that could also be because the shoes are past their prime).
Was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue before (pronation and supination together) and possibly some shoe brad recommendations that I can research that might alleviate some of the impact I'm finding when I run.
Thanks!!
