One would assume that Hobbs should easily win any event he runs at the state meet, but he has some pretty stiff competition in Michigan in the 800. There were the results of the 2019 d1 state meet in the 800:
1. 10 Miles Brown 1:51.83a Novi
2. 10 Patrick Byrnes 1:51.83aPR Plymouth
3. 10 Titus Bretzke 1:52.56aSR Greenville
4. 12 Nicholas Couyoumjian 1:52.87aPR Northville
5. 12 Parker Raymond 1:53.58aPR Rochester Adams
6. 12 Noah Fuerst 1:53.93aPR Waterford Mott
7. 12 Oliver Alvesteffer 1:54.42aPR Caledonia
8. 12 James Cardwell 1:54.93aPR Ann Arbor Huron
Notice how the top 3 were all sophomores. All three of them are seniors this year, and these guys all have 48/49 speed in the 400. Discuss.
