Me and my friend made the team run 10x400 with 20 push-ups between reps, as mentioned in a previous thread.
I truly believe this is going to be the year our school goes to NXN. All-in-all we had 40 people show up. Can you imagine?
We have two upcoming freshman who are such studs. They were able to keep up with the varsity runners for half the workout, though their push-ups s-cked (but I'll cut them some slack as they are freshmen).
I pumped the guys up so much with my motivational speech that a sophomore lead the pack in a 56 second first quarter! That's really impressive!
I launched a devastating kick at the end of every 100 just to keep the yungins in check. ;)
I'm a little disappointed with the girls on the other hand, who only had to do 10 push-ups between reps. However, there were two awesome chicks who were totally bad-ss and were trying just as hard as the dudes, one of them being someone who was already on the team last year. I'mma ask her if she wants to help lead with us, as I think a female figure will better motivate these girls than us.
We warned the slackers (since we can't at this point really tell if they're crying wolf or not) that they have 3 weeks to get their act together or else we're telling the coach about them. Look: Summer training is optional, but we do not need people to come just to slack off. Either bring your "A" game or stay home.
We told them that we're going to do another hard workout tomorrow, but that was our little joke. We are planning to do an "out and back" jog to an ice-cream parlor as a nice little reward. I told the fib so that only the hard workers who deserve ice-cream can get it. I'll have all expenses covered. It's a genius move because the people who stay home are going to hear about it and will start coming to practice again to work harder.
All-in-all, practice was super poggers and the team chemistry just on the first day was terrific!
