I'm entering my sophomore season next year, and I'm aiming to cut around 50 seconds off my 3200 time, 10:25. I could run that with around 12 mpw during track. (coming into it fairly in shape and averaging 20 mpw over the winter). Also, track training was mid-distance oriented though and focused more on building speed rather than endurance. Now, I obviously know the answer is to pump my mileage up, but I was wondering what would be an optimal mileage goal for this. I'm aware 50 seconds is a large jump, but I'm willing to log on the miles.
