Bro what are you saying they could definitely do a pull up 😂 I’m not very muscular and weigh not much at all and can do 10, they can definitely do at least that many 😂
No way Nico can do 10 pull-ups. Doubt he could do 5.

Imagine if Webb had the spikes and trained with Willis in hs
The training wouldn't even be relevant.
It's the shoes. I repeat. It's the mf'ing shoes. The sooner we all come to grips with that the better.
If the clown shoes had existed in 2001 Webb would have run 3:49 with el G winning in 3:45. Facts.
Yeah, whatever dude.
Shoes might help kipchoge in a two hour race but they're not making any of the pros that Kessler just outkicked faster.
They all have the same shoes and he just blew by half of them in the past lap.
He also went faster than the entire NCAA has despite the entire NCAA having access to those same spikes.
...Have you seen the spikes Jim Ryun ran in???
The spikes from 1980s are WAY better than the spikes Ryun ran in, BTW. ....Do we say Come was inferior to Ryun because Coe ran in super spikes in comparison. ....Have you seen the track Ryun ran on compared to say, Monaco??
Puh-phukking-leeze drop it with the shoes bs.
Kessler is a MF badass runner dude.
Get over it.

I would bet you 20$ that Teare can't do 2 pullups. I imagine kessler can do 30-40
And he's ran a 350 mile. You weirdos are obsessed with the wrong things. You think El G or Lagat gave a flying f about how many pull-ups they could do?
100% correct
he is a one in a million talent
A bit heavy handed...but largely on point

I think the opposite was the issue with Verzbicas. Great talent, poor coaching. His parents meddled and thought they were coaches. Amazing that LV ran the times he did in HS given that running for him was part-time. I think LV was pressured into believing he was going to be the Tri superstar when it was clear he was nowhere near the level of swim and bike times to compete with the elites.
It’s just a tragic story.
Exactly what about LV's results indicate poor coaching? He is arguably the greatest high school runner the US has ever seen. The reason his running career didn't blossom is because he chose tri and then nearly crippled himself in a bike accident.
Exactly everything. His father knew zilch about coaching and LV was just an aerobic beast. LV was never going to be a tri star because he was never that good in bike or swim, but he could drop a 15min 5k easily. LV succeeded in spite of his “coaching”. It’s not like he had a real running coach who could design his workouts. If LV was coached by Salazar like Rupp was, LV would have run even faster. He was physically gifted and never really challenged in HS.
Shoes blah blah blah not shoes blah blah blah
Real world is same as ever, manic testing for pros, big loopholes for sub pros.
I think we should all just say congratulations and keep at it as long as you can.
Tell that to IAAF they don't have him listed and they update their list every week, year round. .......

the 1500 at the trials will be insane now that all this happened. Someone impressive probably won’t even make the final. Now u got Kessler with a faster pr than Hocker(has the indoor mile tho) and Nuguse. All the OTC mid d guys ran super well with two getting the olympic standard(Hayward and Paulson are foreigners tho). Then u got like Avila, Prakel. And this is in addition to Centro, Engels and Thompson who are all officially rounding into form

A decent enough time, but rojo is 100% correct about the boing boing shoes.
Corrected, this is more like a 3:40 and vastly inferior to Webb's performance.
you are frankly an idiot if you think they give 5 seconds in a 1500, they give maybe .5-1 second. You are most likely a cranky 47 year old man who peaked at 4:05 in the 1500 and have never worn the new spikes. Get a life
This is great. Now I'm almost certain he'll go pro.
Although if he wasn't set to go to NAU, I'd want him to go to college. Look how well it worked for Athing Mu.
These shoes are incredible. I feel old being part of the pre super shoe period.
And could you please tell the rest of the world what year he is born. ”High schooler ” is not an age or year of birth
Don't want to get too excited.
He's just in high school. You know what happens to all those phenoms... He's about to go through the puberty storm. They just don't come out the same. Ya know what I mean?
Also, I worry about his ability to take tough coaching. He's going to NAU next year after all. Coach Smith can be...tough. A lot of young guys tend to take tough coaching as personal insults. Boys are sensitive like that.
Maybe he'll develop other interests. Boys tend to do that. They don't really have that focus and drive it takes as they enter that next phase. They start drinking and partying a lot. They get distracted by girls. You know, it happens.
When I think about all the male high school phenoms who just...disappeared, the list is endless. I hope that it doesn't happen to Hobbs. But it has happened to so many before him, it's just...there's too much evidence. I just don't want to get too excited.
Kessler's closing speed over the last half lap - lap is incredible. If he positions himself well around this section of the race and closes like he does he's going to be very hard to beat.
Fine for you if you want to believe the shoe aren't helping. Ignore the evidence of your eyes, the times that are being dropped all over the place. The views of actual pros like Nick Willis and Jamie Webb who have run in supershoes, and the pros that don't have them but are putting out begging posts on Twitter looking for a pair of Dragonfly's. Fairy stories are comforting and WWE is real.
Anyway, two things can be true at the same time: Kessler us absurdly talented, and he's getting a tech boost from the shoes

He’s winning Olympic gold in 3 years bookmark this now. Unreal. Insane. Absolutely phenomenal. The future of American running is here.
How come on this site when a HS boy runs fast he's going to win gold in 3 in years but when a HS girl runs fast (Roisin Willis for example) she'll be burnt out in the next 3 years?
Just curious.
Because there is a pretty huge amount of girls that run close to elite level times in high school and then absolutely flame out.on the other hand there hasn't been a high school boy at this level since Jim Ryun. Pretty huge difference, pretty easy too figure out.

The only two high school boys who are even comparable to Kessler in the mile/1500 are Ryun and Webb. And they both turned out to be pretty good.
