That's a solution, but, Starbucks is known for a method of service to personalize the coffee serving experience. Many a John Smith are deeply moved when called by name for their dark roast.
It's quite emotional and endearing for them.
The point is he wants Starbucks to adapt to his beliefs, his political/social leanings.
Why doesn't he go somewhere else if he doesn't like them, or change his name to John Smith?
He thinks he's above Starbucks, clearly.
