Good to see the scholastica team has discovered letsrun. I'm surprised the nuns would allow this explicit content to make it onto campus

LOL. i always assumed that scholastica was a fake college since that name sounds completely made up. glad to see they're hitting the big time. where/who did they compete with before? i don't remember them being in the regional either but maybe i didn't notice if they were way in the back.
Summit League

What meets are going down this week?

Carleton will be attending the Ligma Invite in Rapid City, SD on Saturday.
St. Olaf women's track coach leaves, but the bigger loss is her husband who writes all the training for the men's distance program.
It appears Saint Mary's doesn't have 5 male runners and won't be scoring as a team this year. Was surprised when looking at rosters, so I looked up the school.
They are one of the cheapest schools in the MIAC at their base price (38.8k tuition), though I don't know if their financial aid competes well with other schools. That is hard to find online. Not academically competitive, 92% acceptance rate.
Old numbers, but most schools in the MIAC are about the same size, with 2,000 to 2,300 undergraduate students. St Olaf is big with 3,000. St John's is "small" at 1,700, but that's all males. Saint Mary's is 1,400. St Thomas, for reference, is over 6,000.
Of course there is part time, online, satellite campus stuff that makes these numbers murky and not super useful.
Saint Mary's is in Winona, MN, home to Winona State and its 7,000 undergraduates.
Roster is small every year. It seems to be a coaching revolving door for track and cross country. That is the only obvious reason I can think of for such low XC numbers. Also, if the eduation isn't even close to the same quality as other MIAC schools, I can't imagine that 38k price tag is worth it. But I don't know about the quality of the education, every school claims to be great.
If anyone has experience going there, being recruited, or has any dirt, or knows why it's hard to recruit there, etc, please chime in. I'm very curious.
Saint Marys doesn’t have wifi
Twin Cities Twilight:
Does Stumbo take the win this year?
MASSIVE results from TC Twilight. I am blown away. The MIAC will never be the same.
CSB-SJU Triangulars Men
Thoughts after the first week?
Calvin Boone runs well with the Tommie pack. Munir runs strong and will definitely be in the mix after a monster PR. If Middendorf runs to his talent, they will surprise people.
Carleton's strong front three handled the mud with ease. The Gusties tight pack is impressive too. The Johnnies had a similar spread and Tommy Allen shows he can handle longer distances. Three freshman not far behind.
Splits for Olaf make it look like they only ran the last mile hard.
Crown invite.

Gustavus men win in a perfect score
Big weekend in Northfield. Looking forward to seeing the Gusties at full strength and the Johnnies against competition. Several good Wisconsin schools too.
Nice morning in Northfield. St. Olaf won, but La Crosse and Gustavus took it easy early and then worked the race late. Stumbo still won. Oles are deep, but don't seem unbeatable. Carleton has a tight spread 1-5 but no room for error.
Meet management needs to improve before the MIAC meet. Grass was long and they allowed the Carleton women to warm up in the tight woods loop at the same time the lead pack was running the other direction. That was close to an outright disaster.
I thought the meet was well run. For full disclosure, a meet worker did stop the Carleton women, but the coach’s wife told them to go anyway. Poor look for Carleton.
The Oles looked good today. Kudos to them. It’s a long season.
