Well that was quick... almost makes sense though. His results have been decent but he's never made the jump that a lot of people expected him to make going from high school to college, especially considering his incredible genetics.
Of course, there's probably a couple reasons that we don't know about either.
Good. I hope he goes to Oregon, Stanford, NAU or Colorado with a real coach.
CU surely

Cosseting parenting but that's old news.
Good for him. Get the hell out of UW before it’s too late.

I'd love to see him go somewhere like Adams State and show up at invitationals to dust D1 studs.
Not sure why he didn't pick his dad's alma mater.. falling out with Dad?

Probably because he had a LOT of good offers and he wanted to get away from home, if nothing else for a change of scenery. Like most kids in that position. I remember when his dad chose CU, to a lot of people in TX that was a real head-scratcher. Not that we thought he'd choose UT or A&M but at the time Oregon and Arkansas were top 10 outdoor track and top 5 cross country programs and UT was in the top 5 in xc the year before. In fact, CU was pretty mediocre in the late '80s, after finishing 6th in '86 they had no more top 10 appearances through 1992, a stretch that saw Kansas, bleeping Nebraska, and even Kansas State snag top 10 finishes. Other than the beautiful mountain setting and hippie vibe, and maybe favorable academic rigor, there was little that would apparently recruit someone of AC's pedigree to there during the late Quiller-sans-Wetmore era. Things certainly turned out for the best for him, of course, after the new assistant coach rolled into town in 1992.
Bump. Anyone have insider info? Wonder what school he will head to.
CU of course.
A good HS coach (Kelly Christiansen, formerly of Western State) > Andy Powell.

It is appearing that many people are > than Powell. We were all bamboozled by his success at Oregon but it’s obvious now he was getting carried by talented athletes. A cat could have coached Chez to national titles.
my guess is Oregon. I suspect Hocker and Teare will go pro this year, so Culpepper will fit in nicely.

Not sure why this was a reply to me but ok. I think Oregon may be the best fit wise, it I think he’s just gonna to Colorado because of his paps.
Daschbach should enter the portal too. Dude hasn’t made the jump either
is there any way for the average joe to view the portal? or can only media have access?

Actually, it would be cool to see him wind up at Colorado State. Siemers getting a blue chipper would blow that program up.
