Would Gidey and co break 30min if clean? That's the real debate.
Name mix-up aside, that was great announcing tonight. Don’t even think he was there in person, either, and that’s never easy.
why didn't Dibaba race trials? heard a rumor that she still has a foot injury she's been racing through but don't know if it is true.

I agree and we got to see the Ethiopian trails in Europe for free without commercial interruption .
I hope will get to see the USA trials in the same manner. But we won’t.

Isn't you that was hating at Hassan yesterday?
I recall that Hassan is still the owner of the historic double 1500m/5000m.
And it's not sure for Gidey to win in the OG.
Yes it was me. Hassan's technique is horrible and she runs like a boy
Why run like a girl when you can run like a boy?
I'm not going back to read the posts I missed and I haven't watched the whole trials. But I have to say this format doesn't really help people trying to double.

Yeah, that was a great meet. I haven’t enjoyed watching a track meet so much since Monaco last year, I don’t think.

No, you could tell he was doing the meet from a remote location. For sure it led to a few of his miscalls. But good overall, esp. solo.
It’s Jake Wightmans dad, and he was good a few mixups happened but he was remote so it’s tough

Gidey has never won a race with strong competition, i.e. DL, WC etc. Despite 14:20ish times, there was always at least one better in the big races.
I wonder if there ever was a WR holder in both 5k and 10k (with outlandish marks) who never won a big meeting before.
Ron Clarke?
Remind me again why are their trials in Holland? Isn't travel still restricted...

Ethopia doesn't let it's Athletes double at the Olympics
As Gidey crossed the line, you can see a runner getting lapped (Ababel Yeshaneh?) completely collapse. Even as the camera focuses on the new WR, it takes almost a full minute for anyone to acknowledge the lifeless body lying there. I checked Ethiopian news sites and there wasn't any info on what happened yet toward the end of the stream there was a large crowd gathered indicating it was something quite serious. Any insight into what happened there?
