They said they were only going to leave for the indoor season, but I guess it’s permanent.
Any ideas on who will take over? Will they go the way of Great Oak and hire from within the school?
They sound craaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyzyyyyyyyyyy..
I heard this posting is a formality, the job is going to TINMAN.
This sounds like a great drama to watch. I don't care about anyone involved and probably would root against some or most of the players. Just like The Sopranos or Breaking Bad. Dying to see what happens next. Possibilities:
It's a false flag. They'll be there for years to come.
They really are hiring someone for indoor and outdoor track but for XC it'll still be them. They just wanted half the year off.
They really leave that school and district for good, but don't move anywhere. They just take over the school district next door to show Loudon how good they had it.
Tinman leaves Colorado or wherever he really is (doesn't seem to be Boulder) with shame and applies but doesn't get it because the Hunters have turned on him and their recommendation counts.
Same as above but he DOES get it because school admin doesn't dig the Hunters anymore and want to get back at them for quitting.
Similar to last 2 scenarios, Tinman moves family and everything out to Loudon but strikes out with this (and every other) coaching job. Gets furious at the entire Hunter family, TME supporters online, and the world in general. I guess the last bit is happening already.....
Hunters go to Boulder to coach Drew and semi-pro club.
Hunters go to Boulder to coach just Drew. (Read the Goucher fan fiction thread, if it still exists, for more on how this works.) Move into house, limiting partying and bouncing out the posse.
Hunters find another random low-level high school to become a national XC powerhouse and prove they have all the secrets.
Same as above and Drew moves with them to become volunteer assistant coach. Huge success from both school team and Drew would really prove a point! (Need real underdog locale, maybe Mississippi or Alabama.)
Like above. Hunters pick a working-class school district with no XC team. Tinman does the same. Head-to-head competition. See who wins 5 years from now.
Any other interesting plot ideas, anyone? I for one am anxiously awaiting the next episode......
Real Estate prices have gotten too high for anyone else to just "happen to transfer to LV" is my guess.

I saw that the job requirement is: “Coaching experience or participation in the sport which you are applying for on high school or college levels.”, so it’s definitely not going to be someone with no coaching experience, unlike at Great Oak.
Leading candidates are former assistant coaches Brian Markley and Jamie Mccarty, local coaches from multiple high schools are also said to be interested. Job will alot of applications, every one will take a shot at the job.
Does anyone realize how crappy the coaching stipend is to coach high school? Sheez.
Schools usually like to hire from within their own building. Those interested usually get first crack.
Purcellville is a relatively unique place to live. Barely a DC suburb, but still commutable for those with Northern Virginia jobs. Can still buy a house with some space. Very little to no crime, a population of focused students with supportive parents,. Bucolic. Terminus of the W & O trail. Can't think of a town like it in the Northern Virginia area. Loudoun Valley definitely has the demographics for a sport like XC and distance running in track. This is not to diminish the efforts of the Hunters, but they coach at an ideal school.

This is all very true.

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
