Over analysis goes with the territory.
I think illness is a credible explanation given how off the times were and how the runners looked. But that is the luck of the draw. Bad timing but no one gets a do over.

Tyynismaa is a sophomore, been running college since 2019, Man why is it so hard for you to accept that the kid owns the best times as a real freshman?
Blah blah blah.
Too many words to say "Mediocre so far"

interesting reaction. If 4:12 and 15:50 makes her "mediocre", what pray tell makes one (as a true freshman) better than that? Or even as a sophomore, junior, or senior?
Qualifying for nationals is my metric of success. More than 500 women qualified but Tuohy didn't.

then i guess based on your narrative nico young isnt a successful freshman which is BS
gotta laugh over his logic, just let him win so he feels better
stats dont lie

ah but only 40 were AA in XC. And she was 24th as I recall. Exactly how many make it to Nationals in track. But you probably have a different definition of success there. Maybe top 10?
In HS, Tuohy had a meteoric rise to phenom status after her Freshman year, when she was still elite but not as dominant as what she was known for.
Not making it to NCAAs or Qualifying for the Trials (goals and standards she likely puts on herself) could possibly fuel the fire for her to have another breakout Sophomore season this year.
NC State in general has a lot of great depth in the 5k and let's not forget that we still haven't seen Claire Walters, Jenna Schultz, Marlee Starliper etc. come to form. Along with Brooke Rauber coming in, I can see NC State making a huge splash this upcoming XC season and Tuohy will be hungry for more.

He’s obviously just trolling semihaze and Astro who put an obscene amount of time and effort into defending everything Tuohy does.
We’re now 3 pages into “was she sick?!”. Compare that to Nicos thread.
I think you’d find less KT haters if you guys weren’t so damn intense.
No.
AA or individual qualifier to nationals or part of podium team. Tuohy was huge success.
quite common, happened before right? people wanting her to fail and just be like the rest but her results are still outlying compared to her fellows,
on another note, companies would chase to sign tuohy for this added reason, she generates quite alot engangement and people seem to want to talk back and forth about her
but, poor kid, cant even have a peaceful life
i hope katelyn gets a cut from the amount of money this site earns from her all her threads, people mention her name and everyone just flocks
If you think he is happy right now or his coach is, you are crazy. Guarantee Nico is not classifying this as a successful season. Racing in championships is what matters. If you guys think times are all that matters, is Hutchins more successful than Tuohy at this point with her XC time and 5k track time? I doubt it. Championship racing is what all of the prep is for.
if you follow hs running, these trolls already existed way back, and it was even worse
and who said tuohy's gonna win a championship this year? No one.
you're getting far and far off topic,
now were in prep cross country?
okay go on, im all ears
i guess this thread is universal
It was you who pivoted into men by bringing up Nico Young. You should have stayed on topic. Young and Tuohy were very successful in XC but they failed to qualify in track which should be easier by the numbers.

And I can see some transferring. NC State is overstocked and some of the ladies may decide there is room for improvement elsewhere.
I doubt any of the runners mentioned will be transferring. They have two seniors next year who will be graduating. And everyone seems to really like the team and environment.
