Looks fine when he looks down at it. "Yep, I'm still Laird from LSU!"

Which shoes was Katie Izzo wearing in the 5000? Looked like trainers.
She wore Brooks Beasts
The wind in the 100 renders the times largely meaningless. Laird is not a strong sprinter, and benefits more from a tailwind than would someone like Fahnbulleh. He’s all about turnover.
And high winds are harder to measure. By 4m/s, I think, the gauges are out of spec. Also the calculator variability increases and reliability decreases. And faster wind before/after is a red flag.
Laird is not sub-10 basic. Yes he’s got a good 100m, but not that good. Yet.
This will go in the asterisk section of the basic list.
As for his 200, totally credible. I knew Fahnbulleh would beat Boling. Boling looks fatigued, someone earlier said CNS fatigue. I agree.
Boling’s a good utility sprinter. Honestly IDK what his best distance would be—but one thing’s for sure: he needs to decide, and dedicate...either that, or do multi’s. Ask me how I know.😁
He is great for NCAA points—but at this point, that’s it.
Why oh why does anyone pick any team other than the Razorbacks in a conference championship? I have to go back and count. This could take awhile......
Anyone know what happened with Imogen Barrett? Makes the final of the NCAA indoors 1500 but out in the prelims of SEC outdoors with 4:30+.
The wind was only 3.2m/s.

her splits were 23.8/26.2. So it is a matter of shaving a few tenths from both sides, which seems very doable for her. 23.7/25.9 seems pretty ideal for a 400/800 runner like her.[/quote
She got 23.5w/26.2. Ideal energy output, tough conditions.
Without wind...and chasing Miller-Uebo this summer? 49.2

Yes, I know. Goes in the asterisk section, for now.
For sure he has some wheels. He winds it up at the end of races like Gay used to do.😮
Its about respecting yourself, your teamates and your school. If im on the coaching staff, nobody on the team ever pulls a stunt like that again. Then again, the athletic department at LSU does a good job of making themselves look dumb.

Laird may not be healthy for the Trials. He is holding on and still has to run NCAA Champs.
This. NCAA sprinters tend to hit their peak before the trials... long season burns them out. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to Laird, he is quite a talent, and ready to give Lyles a run for his money.
Btw... with all the Mu and Laird talk, only seeing a couple of posts on JuVaughn Harrison. That guy quietly jumped a world leading 2.36m, highest non-Barshim jump since 2018.
I stand by my doubt as to whether Georgia can coach the sprints as well as much more tested, proven programs like LSU, but Boling did go another windy sub 10 and an apparently legal 20.05 or 20.06, so hard to rule him out his potential to legally go both sub 10 and sub 20 at NCAA's when rested and peaked. Laird is out there right now. He is having an incredible season. However, he's had a few more years to get to this level at a better program. There is just a great crop of freshman-eligibility sprinters in the SEC right now.
