There are.
I don't hate the job; it gives me a lot of free time to learn more coding on the side (it's WFH) and it's good short-term (better than retail, fast food or Amazon), and my boss is hands-off, but there's only two long-term obstacles:
1) Advancement
2) Money
*My boss says I'd be a good fit in post-closing (paying 42k) and the manager of that department likes me but they don't have any slots open right now. So I'll be moved over there sometime this year, if at all. They would give me a raise then and then if I do well on my October review, another bump to 45k in Jan. 2022.
I eventually want to get married (my fiancé and I live together) and buy a house, but 38k isn't enough for that. For a kid just out of HS or college, even, 38k is rock-solid. But I've been in the working world for awhile and never made good $. I'm also applying to smaller dev firms as well.
