Non-COVID accounts for <5% or so, with considerable evidence they may simply be mis-classified COVID deaths (many of them are from the early days of the pandemic and the residual of non-COVID excess deaths has decreased over time).

Wrong, even the CDC states that covid only deaths are less than 5% of the total covid death count.
