Is it risky for Italy to add an unexperienced sprinter in the olympic relay with two months to go? I ask because I have no idea. Lorenzo Patta looks like a potential upgrade.
That seems like enough time
It’s Marcell Jacobs, and to the sprint world he is not unknown. He might be able to win euros with that, if Vicaut doesn’t speed up.
When? Where? Vid?
Flo’da, thanks for the vid, you da’ man!
Looks nice, needs a start...but his start didn’t use up much energy, so that’s good. Looks like the Vicaut school of 100m.
I had hoped he would break 10-flat, and put some heat on Tortu et al. Will be great if more videos emerge.
Nice!
He ran it a few hours ago someone else just posted the video.
No problem Geezer!
I completely forgot he ran 6.47 earlier this year! It’s a little surprising his start seemed to be his weak point, I wonder what he could run for a 200 now. His best is a 20.61 from 2018. Also he has a pretty good 8.07 wind legal long jump and a damn good 8.48 with +2.8.
Agreed, I hope this pushes Tortu back into sub 10 territory and maybe taking a shot at Mennea’s record (Tortu seems like he has potential in the 200)
Tortu seems like a 100m guy, 20.34 is a long way from 19.72

It is, but his 200 PR is from back in 2017, and I believe his coaches wanted to back off of the 200 until his body was stronger
It doesn't seem like he really tried in the 200m. That 20.34 was his first 200m race in two years at the time, and his previous PB was 20.92
That's true he may have hidden potential, not everyone can run a good 200m of 100m training.
Didn’t know that about Tortu’s 200. Hmmmmm.
He might be in tough in the 100 this season, I would put Jacobs ahead of him atm, and someone else might come up big in the 200.
Maybe he should try the 200 as insurance?!
Also didn’t know about Jacobs’ LJ. Lol I learn more track sht here from you guys than from anywhere else👍
