Why has a pair of Pegs gone from $75 to $130 in10 yrs, but a large pizza has been $12 forever

    Short of the recent magic shoe fad, there hasnt been any real innovation. Its all foam, rubber and fabric. Hence why im asking why prices have gone up.

    The only thing seeing greater inflation in our sport than shoes is race entry fees (dont even get me started on race director greed).

    in what world do you live where the price of consumer goods is determined solely by the raw materials?

    The cost of all materials has not increased along with the cost of inflation. The materials running shoes are made up has gone up more than flour, water, etc.

    The main reason, however, is that the cost of labor and manufacturing in Asia has gone up in significantly this century. Wages in the US, however, have barely budged.

    It's all because of ingredients remaining the same for one and different for the other.

    Also the shoemakers make a few pennies more and the pizzas for minimum wage or under the table cash to illegals.

    Yeah dude, pizza place where I worked a large cheese was $31.24 after tax. $35 and up for stuff with toppings. Our personals cost $10 please stop lying.
