False premise. Large pizza is $18-24, depending on toppings.
We'll use pizza hut as our baseline index. You can always get $10 special from them with about 3 toppings.
Advent of internet has brought pegging to the masses, while pizza popularity has long peaked.
well, the reason it's risen so much faster than inflation is probably because running shoe companies realized that people who make a lot of money tend to really like fitness and running in particular, so they can charge those prices and get away with it. up until a few years ago they were leaving a lot of money on the table compared to other more gear intensive sports. now we have been just as gear-ified as anything. people will buy f-ing hydration vests to run a half marathon. it's amazing. gotta hand it to the marketing departments at these companies.
Get a job and pay up broke boy
You are way off. Pegs were $95 in 2011, and are $120 in 2021. They have gone up in price close to inflation.
Some Pegasus prices
1983: $40
1995: $70
2005-2006: $80
2007: $85
2008-2010: $90
2011: $95
2012-2014: $100
2015-2017: $110
2018-2021: $120
According to Jerome Powell there is no inflation. (LoL). Saying anything to keep that money printer running full tilt:

Back in 05, a large pizza was $12 basically.
I have no idea. Maybe due to the ever increasing popularity of health and fitness, and general decrease in positive perception of fast food?
Large pizzas have gotten smaller in order to hold pricing for as long as possible.
You can see this across the whole grocery and restaurant markets. Paper towel tolls contain fewer sheets, 12 oz. cans of tomatoes are now 10 oz cans of tomatoes, etc.
This is not really an option for items/commodities that are fixed in size/mass/weight... Like shoes...
The deceiving government wants to fool people by raising minimum wage. This is a scam because the lower class remains the same yet the middle class could be adversely affected. The rich just get richer. That's all that happens. These political players are only concerned about maintaining or raising their status and pay within the political sphere. They act as if they care about people and their health (which is a terrible lie) in order to advance their agenda and themselves accordingly.
The Indonesian kids that put your shoes together demanded that Nike start paying for the funerals of the kids that die in the stitching machines.
Go to a Nike clearance clearance store if you have one around. The only people who shop there are hypebeasts so you can snag last gen pegs for ~$60 and turbos for ~$90
Pizza's can get small and cheaper ingredients can be used.
You can't size down a shoe.
Pegs? We.
1983: Medium 3-topping pizza, pitcher of Coke, $10.28 at Godfather's Pizza in the Midwest.
1992 Dominos Thursday night delivery special. 2 large cheese pizzas for the time you order. Valid after 9pm only. Scrape together a few more dollars for the tip and good to go.
I basically ate a large cheese pizza every Thursday night during college.

got some peg 35s for $45 at the outlet less than 2 years ago. Got some 37s from Nike for $80 a few month ago....
Nike inflation is higher then pizza inflation.
Nike=hype inflation
Pizza =actual inflation
Don't buy $120 shoes form nike ever unless you plan on reselling for much more.
Jordan's cost $5 a pair for nike make in 1990 at the time they cost around $100 now they cost $220 and Nike cost is maybe $20 per pair. The resale market on these shoes is absurd and even got a Nike president fired recently..
Don't buy the hype, Nike running shoes go on sale very quickly
Nike happens to be my go to shoe (pegs only). Hoka is just as complicit with $200 trail shoes and other brands with their funny magic race shoes.
Short of the recent magic shoe fad, there hasnt been any real innovation. Its all foam, rubber and fabric. Hence why im asking why prices have gone up.
The only thing seeing greater inflation in our sport than shoes is race entry fees (dont even get me started on race director greed).
