Randy Moss could of easily been an Olympic sprinter. He could of been the USA’s Bolt.

Thanks. It was bothering me. The of vs. have is one of those things that drive me up the wall.
Around 10.42 basic.
Excellent.
Too bad Baker didn’t run. Gillespie an honest sub-10, fantastic for him
Ted Ginn in his time probably comparable
Marquise Goodwin likely in the top 5 fastest in the NFL.....yes, after sitting out the year will be back with Buffalo. He is the National HS record holder in the LJ.....a smidgeon short of 27’!
Ginn was possibly a bit quicker.
But I'd almost guarantee that Santana Moss, before the broken leg, could have easily made a top qualifying time in the 100.
My Moss tweet was left out initially. Here it is:

this was seriously impressive . i doubt there is a soccer player in the world this quick. when you consider gaitlin ran 10.24 in tokyo it puts into perspective how good it was. world class decathletes struggle to run that sort of time and they spend so much time on executing every event to perfection (bar the 1500) . yep very very impressive .
I know didn’t play much in NFL but recent example of actual sprinter/football player is Jeff Demps (2012 Olympics and a 10.01)
PS. I added in "Rojo nailed it" to the title as it's my website and I'm an ego maniac.[/quote]
Truer words have never been spoken on here.
House of Run Podcast guys also "nailed it." They said 10.35. I'm happy for the added coverage but he got walked. 9th of 9 with a -1 wind. Guys went on to run 9.9 in the final.
I'm not here to gloat. All the credit to DK for showing up. But this thread is probably the most lively on the day & all of the coverage is about how great he did because he was given zero expectations. He seemed to meet expectations exactly where reasonable ones get set.
Good wake up call for NFL fans but given his lack of expectations the average NFL fan probably thinks he could win gold with a little more training.

We know
We need more professional 'popular' athletes to do this to bring more credibility to the guys putting it in day in and day out. I used to hate track and field, and then I started it my senior of high school. Until you understand the intricacies of what it takes and how it's entertaining, you don't get it. Bring more of these athletes to the fray.

As a hs soph, Moss ran 10.94 / 21.95 to win the 100/200 at WV state meet. This was on a weekend break from baseball, where he was centerfielder. Also his only year of his track.
The 21.15 200 was while he was at Marshall.
The real question with these pro stars is not how fast can they run when they go from their sport to the track with little training, but what they could do off they trained seriously for track. Metcalf would not be 229 pounds, if trying to optimize his 100/200 times.
Still lots of fun to watch.
what people dont think about is he had minimal practice for his 21.15 on a sharp turn sh*t indoor track, he would have dropped a 20.6 at a good banked track we have today. moss was bolt, same height and same huge powerful stride. everyone keeps acting like bolt was 9.58/19.19 from the get go, you seem to forget he was 19.9-20.10 for a while then the huge drop. moss would have been WR potential 100 and 200.....he was way more of a freak athlete than xavier cater and that dude ran 10, 19.63 and 44.....so yeah moss could have been all time
Do not underestimate the greatness of Dolt.
Once he got with the program, his form could actually be extremely good. Watch him at stride in a good relay anchor.
Very doubtful that Moss could deliver such great form. Almost nobody has.
And Dolt was unrestricted. Doubtful if Moss could have achieved that status, either.
Moss on the Jamaican Juice would run 19.95 if he trained for it. Moss was special.
Well, Flake went 19.26 with a missed start. Who knows
Being more of a freak athlete doesn't make you faster. Moss could have been an elite 200m guy or more likely would have just ended up with a 20.2-20.5 pr.
Wasn't bolt running 20.5 at the age moss ran 21.95.
Moss's 55m time was worth 10.4-10.6 many
elite athletes could run that off no sprint specific training. Moss wasn't likley anything special speed wise.

go to 2:42....moss had smooth fluid form and a long powerful stride that didnt look that fast till you saw other peoples turnover around him. now as we see this dude just ran a 10.37 and moss was way faster than him, and in this clip he is prob running away from other10.3 guys with EASE

It doesn't count. He didn't do it in lingerie. I did not see a bra, panties, nylons, or garter belt on him.
Either do it in lingerie or it doesn't count. Babe.

It’s an old legend here (and I’ve heard two different people that swear it’s true) that Randy Moss ran a 100m dash close to my home town in WV and forgot his track spikes. He ran in basketball shoes and still won the event and beat some good sprinters. He went on to be the fastest high school sprinter in WV that year off of almost no training and he was only a sophomore. He didn’t run his junior or senior year but it was widely believed that he would have been the fastest 200m runner in WV ever if he only wanted to. But he didn’t.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
