He would have finished 8th in the Texas HS 6A.

So this is what the fastest football players can run? The "so greatest of all athletes"?? Slow as molasses.
DK isn't even close to being the fastest player in the NFL. 0/10
He probably would have run .1 to .3 sec slower coming of the couch but know that he's has some training and runs a 10.37, I can say there's not 10 people in the league currently faster then him. He could be top 5 fastest. He beat Bo Jackson and CJ2K's Pr
He may be slower than hill but maybe not know who knows if hill still has 10.19 speed after gaining 20lbs. Few players were clocked faster tha Dk in pads last year and if he truly has gotten faster he is likely in the top 5 if not top 3 fastest.

The time is extremely impressive I did not think he would have ran that fast, specially after seeing his blocks starts (looked too slow for 10.3) but come on he literally trains "sprints" everyday, he's an wr...

21.05 in college does not equal Olympic sprinters, I know he hadn't ran track in years by that time, but if he had Olympic talent he would have ran faster with minimal training.
Honestly, it was an ugly 100m.
Couldn’t see that well, but looks like he crapped out the start, rushed the drive, ran tight, and had too much lateral twist because of incorrect hip position.
He could easily be, with the same wind, 10.30 if he just relaxed, 10.25 if he executed his practice block mechanic, and 10.20 if he didn’t curtail his drive. Those are all EASILY fixable, if he would just focus on himself and his execution.
That is TODAY.
Better mechanics would take lots of training and coaching. If he dedicated, he could be darn close to 10-flat, even near his current bodyweight.
DAMN impressive.

Found rojo’s burner letsrun account
I agree but I think he body weight is close to optimal maybe he could lose 5-10 pounds but some thick framed people are just built like that, and losing muscle won't help them run faster.
He could definitely improve on all aspects of his race , and would likely be a 10.10- 10.15 guy if he trained for track for the next two years.

He's not the fastest NFL player. Maybe top 15. He's possibly the fastest/biggest combo in the NFL. 230+lbs going that fast is scary.
Fastest player right now is Tyreek Hill, or John Ross, I'd guess. They would both dust DK in a 100.
Raheem Mostert and Tyreek Hill are the two fastest NFL players. John Ross may not be top 10, I'm not sure his combine 40 yard was legit.

DK wasn't even top 5 in the 40yd at the combine in the year he ran it, let alone being top 5 fastest in the league overall.
Calvin Johnson ran a 10.23, Andre Johnson rand a 10.29, Prime Time ran 10.26, Jamaal Charles ran 10.18, Darrell Greene ran 10.08, Herschel Walker ran 10.32. DK is by no means abnormally fast, and these guys I'm listing are just "super stars", there are plenty of no-name players who have similar performances to these guys who just don't get playing time because they are "just" fast. DK is top 5 in the league AT HIS SIZE but if there was a run off of all the guys in the league DK isn't top 30.
I meant currently playing he is probably ranked 50-75 all time.
Props to him for actually showing up and running a respectable time.
Also-given the questionable drug testing of NFL players, can we believe that DK is clean?
Unlikely he would be tested at this meet, but it was a possibility. Gotta believe he knew that, and that he would not show up had he thought he might be tested and fail. a test.
Some sprinters are heavily muscled compared to most other track athletes. Metcalf stood out in his heat as carrying more muscle than others
Well, how big was Herschel Walker?
Nice job by DK. I thought the over/under should have been 10.5 so I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe he'll get faster if he keeps at it.
I had 10.31 so just missed. I just watched the video. How embarrassing for him and the NFL. I’m sure they won’t stop pushing the narrative that their players are the fastest anywhere and keep hyping the 40 which is a joke.
No
Ron Brown
Darrell Green from 35 years ago were considerably faster
Bob Hayes was pretty fast
Everybody, including the NFL, knows that their guys in football shape aren’t as fast as the best track guys in track shape.
This wasn’t even bad...put Baker, Gatlin, Coleman, Bromell next to him, now THAT would look bad.
He did very well IMO
And don’t forget Willie Gualt ran 10.72 20 years past his peak in the over 45 age group
