Who do you think Colorado\'s fifth man will be this x-country season?
Who do you think Colorado\'s fifth man will be this x-country season?
Jon Severy.
How good do you think Severy will be? What has he done in the past couple years (in high school and at colorado)?
Severy was 163rd in XC last year, (134 in points, the 7th man) but supposedly that was a bad race for him and he should improve this year. Don't know how much of a highschool runner he was but he probably is an aerobic king.
Isn't it funny that the Torres Twins don't look that much alike anymore? You can actually tell them apart without much effort.
Yeah, Jorge is in front.
Jorge also comes with a Dathan Ritzenhein attached at the elbow.
Severy was the Colorad state champ in the 3200 as a senior in 9:12. He had a 1600 PR of 4:23.

Colorado does also have two super freshman coming in - Billy Nelson and Bret Schoolmeester. Even though Schoolmeester ran that unbelievable 8:49 (his PR at the time was just 9:18!) at the Arcadia meet to finish second to Solinsky, I think that Nelson has shown more consistency, but both have the ability to challenge for a varsity spot. Severy is going to have to work his butt off.
What's the word on Slattery? I've heard that he may not be returning.
If I remember correctly, Slattery is done with track but still is going to run cross country this fall. Am I correct about that?
yup - done with running track for c.u., anyway.
wassup with Slatts? why exactly is he running cross but not track?
the reason he is not running track is because hes already used all 4 years of running up in track.
