It kills the black markets of these drugs which kills the monetary incentive to produce and sell and fight violently over sale territory. So legalization of all drugs instantly strikes a massive blow to drug cartel drug business, if not completely destroying it. Also individuals struggling with these drugs can seek help or treatment with less stigma and risk. Example: you can easily obtain controlled, safe, exact measurements of heroin as you wean yourself off of the drug. You cant quit cold turkey.
Dosent "kill" black market. Black market marijuana is still sold in states where it is legal.
There is really no stigma seeking seeking treatment.
Yes, you can quit meth, cocaine or heroin cold turkey. You might not like it, but you wont die.
You can still buy illegal moonshine whiskey too but why would you? when you can go into any liquor store and chose from 100s of brands?
And your argument still doesn't justify the prohibition of legalized weed. Give it up, you are living in a puritanical past that is finally on it's way out.
And yes, the fact that these drugs are illegal makes the addicts turn to really bad choices that come with really really bad consequences. They drunk trying to get sober is much more easily tolerated in US society than the drug addict trying to kick the habit.
