Bill Gates is good at projecting a geeky computer science genius public persona. The reality is that he is a ruthless business man who is really just an amateur at writing code. I doubt that Bill was a kind and caring husband and am not really surprised that he couldn't keep his marriage together.

WHAT? You sound hurt about this.
Maybe she is anti-Vax and he couldn't abide by that.
Dude why. I hope this isn't what I think it is...
Always sad when seemingly happy marriages fail. Wishing them both the best

Documented psycho with a high IQ.
1. He was able to memorize employee license plates and monitored their time spend at work.
2. He was unable (or pretended to be unable) to understand why an employee with a family would want to go home at the end of the day when they were busy.
Very smart guy, but only in a ruthless business sense. Microsoft's biggest victories were killing other competitors. They lost lawsuits regarding monopolistic business practices and intellectual property a number of times, but always spent enough money to drag it out until the other side was dead.
His clearly unhealthy obsession and involvement in vaccines, etc, shows that he is surely a weird guy.

I would like to offer my home as 'space and privacy' for Melinda and her divorce settlement during this difficult transition... I think my current wife will be cool with that. Anybody got pics?
J/k her personal masseuse and bodyguard probably called dibs.
The vaccine scam must have gotten to their relationship. Or perhaps it was the hookers Billy was banging.
"No longer believe we can grow together as a couple".
Let me barf.
It's obvious what happened. He saw Bezos getting some from Lauren Sanchez and was inspired to get some action for himself.
Severe disability can really affect a relationship. He's a genius, but he's been wheelchair bound and quadriplegic from ALS for at least a decade now. Any spouse wants to be supportive, but eventually you reach a breaking point.
Maybe she's ready for a guy who's *not* a college dropout?

He's not wheelchair bound, is not a quadriplegic and he does not have ALS. However, he has aged very poorly. He's 65 but he looks more like he's 75, or older. He looks older than my grandfather, but he's always remained a very active guy.
I find it incredibly interesting that people would get divorced after 27 years of marriage. I mostly don't understand it. They've gone through all of the tough times, why suddenly do they no longer want to be together? A couple who gets divorced after a couple of years, sure, they made a bad choice, married for the wrong reasons, etc, But you get to 65, been together for three decades, and then you are done? What's that about? To me it's the opposite of what I would expect.

Agreed, absent some serious transgression that will no doubt become public knowledge soon enough.

“Stay together for the kids”
https://youtu.be/k1BFHYtZlAUIt is not baffling to me. The ones who I find pathetic are those that are married 50 years. Mostly just going through the motions. Marriages have a shelf life (particularly in this day & age).
Most divorces occur to people in their fifties. Bill and Melinda just probably ran out of things to say to each other. Tiger Woods marriage would have ended the same way if he hadn't taken action.

What a weird take . "Couldn't keep marriage together." Two things the marriage lasted like forever. And why is it that HE couldn't keep his marriage together? Maybe SHE couldn't keep the marriage together . Also, to say he was an amateur at writing code. Just a silly thing to say. It is like saying someone who cured cancer was really not a good lab partner.
